I am so confused..I purchased my custom domain from yola 2 yrs ago...My renewal last year cost $20 and that was considered "bronze" there was no other fee...now I have 2 separate fees for domain and bronze access..$15 for domain and and and additional $23 for bronze? my deadline is looming, but I need to clarify before doing so. The domain is registered in my clients name...but the bronze renewal is under my name...I have only one custom domain..are these fees correct? which means my annual fee has increased almost $20? Thanks in advance.

Hello shadyhacres,

Your hosting fee for Bronze ($23) is the correct introductory discount price for existing Bronze subscribers.

The $15 charge for your domain sounds about right depending on the domain type.

You can see the breakdown of list prices for hosting here: http://www.yola.com/pricing

The information on the change is outlined in a Yola Blog post:http://www.yola.com/blog/exciting-new...

You will need to do something about the hosting and domain registration I think because although you could host your clients domain in your Yola account the only way that they could get access to their domain is through your Yola account and they would need a Bronze hosting plan if you/they wished to have the package registered under a separate Yola account.

In other words you cannot share a hosting plan across different accounts at this stage.

they use to both be under my name....which is how the site was purchased...originally I owned the domain. I am on the BOD of the organization. Last yr when I renewed, I changed the site ownership to the club for records. I am the only one that has access...I can easily change ownership back to me. I don't want the club the have an extra fee because of me....I am sure I have records of the site original purchase with custom domain.

I also have a "whois data confirmation" that shows I am the original registrant and administrator. Please advise...if they both have to be under the same name..then that's what I'll do, if it saves the $20 extra charge. I purchased under my name originally because I had never created a website before and the club(PPWHA) asked me to try..having done other graphic art projects for them...flyers, newsletter's ...etc. If it was going to be a colossal fail....it would be my loss $$$$. After it was up and running...they reimbursed me the purchase fee, so I thought it fair that the site be changed and registered under their name. I didn't think it was a big deal.

Hello,

Thank you for explaining your position. The only way to prevent from having to purchase two separate hosting packages would be if we helped you move your domain and website from one account into your other account. This way, you will only need one hosting package for all of the domains on your account.

If this is something you are interested in doing, please share with us the following in an email to support@yola.com:

1) email address associated with the account that you are transferring your site and domain from
2) domain name that you wish to transfer
3) site name that you wish to transfer
4) email address associated withe the account that you are hoping to transfer your site to

Please do not post this information on our public, for your own safety. If you have any further questions, do not hesitate contacting us!

Thank you for taking the time and the effort to explain these details. You are very clear on your understanding of the situation and this will help the Yola people discuss this with you.

The transfer of ownership in this case is very straight forward as you have sole control. You can go anyway you wish to with this and Yola will be able to implement it with you. This won't be a money saver as the items are separate.

The changes of Domain and Hosting were announced about the 10th December I think and did cause considerable confusion within the Yola community so you are not alone on this issue. It is an across the board change affecting all people with Bronze subscriptions. Yola will be able to give you a breakdown of what you purchased specifically originally and a clear explanation of their terms and the benefits of the new system. It is very confusing and I hope that the understanding can be worked through for you.

Good luck with this.

Hello,

The package changes we have introduced have not provided the capability to add SSL certificates to Yola websites.

I would be happy to confirm your renewal date and cost if you provide us with your domain.
