Hi Fr. Ron

You have done a lot of work on your site! I find it to be very informative and easy to read. Here are my comments. Please remember that these are only suggestions and you need to do what is right for you and your vision. =)

1. Homepage
- Overall, it presents as being clean and simple. While I usually lean towards simplicity - I wonder if your site appears almost too simple? There's a lot of white background which may lend to this "simple" look.

One possible way to overcome this is to simply add a background color. You can do this by clicking on "Edit Page Design", then "Page Background", then "Format Background". Then, you can select your background fill or background image. Please note that not all templates allow for background customizations. Please refer to the Yola Style Guide: http://www.yola.com/yola-style-guide to see what options the templates offer.

Another thing you could do is change your template which doesn't have as much white space or offers a more interesting background.

- I've added a screenshot below of further comments I have made on your homepage:

2. Latest News
a. I would keep the line "Information & Diary Dates" all on one line.

b. What about changing this page to a "Blog" page? This will help to present your information in a more pleasing manner.

c. I see that you have a lot of dates. One thing you may want to consider is embedding a calendar that contains all your social events. Although I have not tried this myself.. Google Calendars is one such application that allows you to embed into your site. If you're interested in this idea, please go here: https://www.google.com/accounts/Servi... If you do decide to go this route - I would add this as a separate page and still keep a blog containing any other news items.

3. Clergy & Contact Details

-This page is a little long. People want to get the information quickly. I would encourage you to move things around a little.

For example:

4. Sunday School & Youth Club
- You have two links: http://www.papajan.com/ & http://www.valeroyal.freeuk.com/sunda... - I would have these links open up in a new page instead of the same page. This helps to keep your visitors on your site. To make your link open up on a new page, go into your HTML, and add in your target="_blank".

This is what your a href tag would now look like:
<a href="http://www.valeroyal.freeuk.com/sunda...; target="_blank">Children's Worship</a>

5. Prayers & Resources
- Underneath your heading "Your Prayer Requests", you have the following:

To ask for our prayers please click
on
the envelope to the right.

I would just move the last line up beside the word "on".

- This is quite a long page. I would encourage you to place an anchor tag there as well as you have done for your photo galleries. It doesn't need to be a button. Just even simple text that says something like "return to top" will do - in fact it may be better as a text. A big button may be overpowering.

6. Prayer Requests
- Just an idea here.. what about adding a commenting platform to your blog - so people can post their encouragement or words? If this is something that interests you, Yola is integrated with Disqus (Discuss). They have a great tutorial on how to implement this: http://www.yola.com/customer-support/...

7. Your link page
- Again, I would encourage you to have the links open up in a new page.

I know I said a lot of stuff! Sorry! I hope you found it a bit helpful. However, as I said earlier, you need to do what you feel is best! If you need any clarification, please don't hesitate to ask. =)

This is brilliant! There is a lot here that I will amend. Your ideas are great!

I agree about the calendar but I find that I can't edit the one you can add. It seems to have American dates in it

Hi Fr. Ron

I believe you can change the settings for the calendar for England. Please take a look at my screenshot. Click on "settings", then change your country and time zone.

Hi Fr,

Now you have made a great site the next step is letting people find it.

I would recommned filling in all the keywords and descriptions.

You could also add a favorite icon.

All can be done by clciking a blank part of the page then (in the content sidebar) clicking 'properties'

Yola have great SEO tutorials that i would read through - http://www.yola.com/tutorials/intro-t...
