Creating a way for people to respond to my blog.

I've created a blog, but the problem is that there is no way that the people reading the blog can respond to it directly. I mean there is no where underneath where a person can respond to my blog. What do I do to create this communication?

Hi Christina

There are a couple of ways to add a comment box to your blog. Disqus (Discuss) is one commenting platform that is integrated with Yola. If you go into the blog manager and click on settings, you will see there's a box for you to paste in the HTML code.

If you want to use Disqus, the click on the name "Disqus" and it will take you to their sign-up page. Once you've signed up (it's free), then you'll fill out the necessary info for your blog and then you will select the generic code. Paste the generic code into the HTML box that you see in your blog manager setting.

You will only see the comment box if you click on the blog post title.

Another platform that you could use is JS-Kit. Once you've signed up with them, copy the code given to you into that same box in the blog manager settings. Again, the comment box will only show up if you click on the blog post title. Please note that with JS-Kit, in order to gain administrative control, you need to be the first one to make a comment. Then you can go to your dashboard and delete it.

Please let us know if you this is what you're looking for or if you need further assistance. =)

Hello Christina,

There is a way for your followers to respond and add comments to your blog. One way is a featured facility Disqus.

The second way is by a another third party facility such as JS-Kit (http:js-kit.com) which is a message board. This has been used very effectively by many with their blogs and allows for a very interactive dialogue on a specific or any post.

Disqus the Yola featured facility is excellent.

You can enable this easily by following this Tutorial:
http://www.yola.com/customer-support/...

At this time there is no facility for an outside party to directly add content to you blog. This would be effected by a personal submission to you and then you posting this article.

The disqus web-site is also a great resource for additional hints on communicating usage of blogs by others and being notified by others of their use of your material.

No problem Peter. I think your comments only validates what was said and it gives her the added benefit of seeing the tutorial - something I had overlooked and am thankful that you thought to include it.
