Creating *only* a blog

Your blog tutorial indicates that I should be able to create a new site and specify whether I want the site to be a blog. Specifically, the tutorial says...

==snip==

You can choose whether you want to create a site that consists entirely of blog pages, entirely of website pages or a combination of the two types of pages.

You have an opportunity to select between a blog page or a website page whenever you:
• Create a new site
• Create a new page on an existing site

==end snip==

This doesn't seem to be entirely the case. When I create a new site, there is no option to specify that I want the site to be a blog. I must first create a site, and then add a blog to it.

Are the instructions wrong, or am I missing something?

Thanks much~

Hi Karyn,

You're right! We changed the flow of creating a new site/account last week and neglected to update the tutorial. We'll do that right away and I'll post here once it's done.

Thank you for letting us know!

Just in case you need to know, here's how to make your home page your blog page:
1. Click on the "New Page" button and choose the blog page.
2. Name the page "index" and you will asked if you want to overwrite the current index page - click on "OK".

I liked the option of being able to specify blog upon creating a site, but appreciate the new instructions. Thanks so much.

To add to Marije's response, your index page will be titled index / home... if you plan on including this in your menu - consider editing the menu option to be changed to "blog".
