Hi Vincent,

If your site is already published to a Yola subdomain, you can easily purchase your own domain when you click on 'Update my Site'. The subdomain will automatically redirect to your new address (www.example.com). This way, you won't lose the value of any links or visitors that only know your old location and they'll see your new domain.

Please click here for more information on this issue: http://forum.yola.com/Yola/topics/upg...

Please let us know if you have more questions about this.

Ruth....

Basically I want to change my URL from a .net to a .com......that is what I need to do. I woudl like to keep the .net and perhaps have both point to the site.

is that possible?....and if so....please lead me through it.

Thanks....

Hi Vincent,

It is possible to purchase multiple domains for one site. Right now the process is a little tedious, but hopefully we can make it easier in future.

Here is what you would need to do:

1. Create a new site. When you first login to Yola you will be on the My Sites page, there is a red button that says "Create New Site".
2. Publish the second site just as you published the first one, and purchase the domain name that you would like to use for the other site.
3. Close the site builder and go back to the My Sites page on the Yola website. Scroll to the bottom and check the box next to "Enable Advanced Domain Settings".
4. Scroll back up to the top and click on the link "Advanced Domain Settings".
5. A new page will open. If you bought the domain from Yola, it will already be listed on the page and you will be able to click on the drop-down menu to assign it to the site you would like to use it for.
6. Click on "Click to apply changes".

By assigning a domain as "Primary Domain", this will be the canonical (primary) domain and the one the other domains will redirect to.

You can then do this if you would like to purchase any other domains. Let us know if you have any trouble with this.
