I currently own a domain on another server. I want to open a new site under that same domain name but, want to have no down time of the site. Can I make up the complete site first on Yola then go through the transfer. Darn, the way I see it, you have to first transfer the domain and then make up the site which..... would leave my web site out of business until I've finished building the new one.
Very anxious, any ideas?

You can set up your site and publish it under the yola domain
Such as www.yoursite.yola.com
When you are all the the way you want you can then do the transfer , unpublished your site from the yoursite.yola.com and re-publish under your domain name

Hello Don,
What you can do is create your new site in Yola, keeping the other site live where the domain is published so you can still be receiving visitors. Then when you have the new site in Yola finished, start the domain transfer process, the domain will stay published to your old site until the transfer is complete, then when the transfer completes, the domain will be published to your new Yola site. There will be minimal downtime if any.

Hope this makes sense. Go ahead and start your Yola site, and when it is finished you can follow the instructions in this tutorial to start the domain transfer: Tutorial: Transferring your domain to Yola.

Please let me know if you have any further questions about this.

Kind Regards,
Emmy
