I just purchased a custom domain that I want to use with my blog on blogspot. On blogger, I got a prompt that reads: The DNS record for your domain is not set up correctly yet.

What does this mean and what do I need to do to convert my blog from a to the domain I purchased through Yola?

Hello imanavywife

If you would like to use your domain to publish your blog, then you need to change the DNS records to point to blogspot.

Here is how to do it on Yola:

  1. Log in to your Yola account.

  2. Click on Domains > Advanced settings - you will see the "Advanced settings" link next to the domain you want to use for you blog.

  3. You need to change the CNAME Record. To do this, click on "Change DNS settings. This will open up the DNS panel.

  4. Make sure that "CNAME" is selected from the drop-down list of options.

  5. Enter www in the first field.

  6. Enter in the next field.

  7. Click "Update" to add the record.

It should look like this:

Please note that it can take up to 48 hours for this change to propagate across the web, but it is usually a lot sooner.
