The ability to set site wide default properties for a widget. For example I have a standard message for the "Alternative Text" property of the image widget.

It would save a lot of effort and stop the odd one getting through without the property in question being set.

Hello Rob

I've been reading and re-reading your idea trying to see if I understand your suggestion.

I'm not sure I do :( Would you mind trying to share more details about your idea?

In the meantime, I have found a couple of articles that I found quite enlightening and thought you and others may enjoy reading them as well.

I am not sure either about this...I don't see an advantage unless you use the same image for you whole site and no others....I could see it being great if we could add alt text tags as we upload an image to file manager and then it is already set when we use it on any page.

OK this is not image specific, the image thing was an example, I am suggehesting the possibility to set a site wide default for any property of any widget. So when used that value is automaticaly populated into the widget. If then a different value is required it can be overridden in the usual way.

I hope this clarifies my idea.
