desktop client for Yola

what:
- my suggestion is to make a desktop client for Yola.

benefits:
~ to users:
- using Yola online is slow - just like using any other online application of such scale. This makes it fairly unproductive as a web building tool.

You may ask, of course, what is the point of the online version of Yola then? A desktop client is not meant to replace the online service. It is meant to supplement it. It would be great to use the fast desktop client at your workplace and at the same time be able to access Yola from any other computer if you happen to be somewhere else.

Time is the most precious resource. A desktop client would save time.

~ to Yola:
- competitive advantage make Yola a preferred choice over other web site builders; you could also charge for the desktop client.

implementation:
- the desktop client could be either launched as an open source project or developed in-house.

This is a very advanced development. Yola are certainly nowhere near having a stable mature version of their site-builder. That's what you need for a desktop client.

You can in effect do a lot at this time off-line with an HTML editor. You can visualise the outcome of your creation and then paste it into an html widget when in your site when connected.

A desktop client! Which version? 1 to 9943 v218.16.32? The builder is updated frequently and invisibly in most cases so to update a desktop client would be the same issue of having to check and update for many connections?

Once a day is just fine for me. I'd rather miss the latest version of Yola by a day than waste time and attention in annoying micro-waits online.

That's a good counter-argument and certainly something to consider. Thanks for addressing this clearly. It's made me think.
