Developer Tools for various browsers used in creating your Yola site. (Slightly adventurous tools)

The developer tools available for your browser:

  • WebInspector for Chrome/Safari and other WebKit browsers

  • Firebug for Firefox
  • not available yet for FF v10.(Soon!)
  • Dragonfly for Opera

  • Developer Tools for IE)

are incredibly powerful allies for web designers and very appropriate for Yola sites for those customising the layout of their sites.

I think that all of these are free downloads and the best instruction for use is found in YouTube where many people have created various video instructions for their use.

For Silver users this is a dream tool(s)
These allow you to play with the appearance of your site and make specific changes to the CSS and see the effect before making any commitment. If a change works then you can copy the effective code and paste it into your site through the CSS editor.

This is also most effective for users wishing to customise the CSS in the new Yola Online Store and good direction is given within the Ecwid Knowledge Base and Forums.

Hi Gop,

Thanks for sharing this with everyone! I am sure a lot of people will find this information useful because a lot of people probably don't know that their browsers have developer tools.

I use Chrome's Developer Tools/Web Inspector everyday. It's really nice how you can right click on an element and click "Inspect Element" and it'll bring you right to the element in the Developer Tools.
