Hi,
could you please help?
I want to create a store of many items- clothes...each one will have 3-5 photos, price, size and 5words description.

Most of the customers will probably not pay upfront just when they recieve the postbox, some might use debit card but no paypal or googlecheckout (maybe very few of my customer will have it or want to chose this option...)
Other problem with these cart is I am not sure if they are also for other EU currencies and in other languages than just English...which my customers will not understand a word of it...
+I will need an email confirmation to know which items to post...(and I read here paypal dont do that anyway...)
Perhaps just that will be ok or have an option for customer to chose how they wish to pay for items- postal order-debi card-payapl-google checkout etc. Anything lke that can be done on free yola hosting??

Could you please recommend me some good SHOPPING CART I could use?
And shall I use layout in 3 colums or how to design it so it will just not be a mess of long list items?

Many thanks for any advice
-could you please post also your website to see how you have done it?...perhaps with tips...

Hi Lili,

Your requirements are very complex for a 'free" shopping cart. The basic widgets on Yola can't do this.

Please have a look at Ecwid. They have most of the requirements that you have requested. They offer a free service for up to 100 items thereafter there is a monthly fee of approx $17. This is probably your best choice.

Thanks a lot for your help...so Ecwid is a shopping cart, which I then somehow put on free yola? /(apologies, I am new to this:)

I see, so if I will like just to display on my FREE Yola website-more than 200 clothes (3photos of each with 5 words description+price)
and will display my account no. directly (No Paypal etc. as they charge a fee for sold items and my things will sell for very little anyway)
what could I then use to display them (not in a messy list)
-in Gallery option- I cannot write a discreption+price nor can I put detail of items...perhaps just behind each other...
-inserting photo one by one- same problem as above..unless I put text box under each- not sure if the site then will not take ages to load etc.plus it will be awfully long list over 10pages:)
-using paypal cart and tell the shopper not to proceed is silly:)

And tell to customers to email me their order, so I know what they paid for is untrustworthy...

Any good suggestions? Anyone succeeded with this on free yola somehow?
thanx

You can use Ecwid as a product catalogue without going through to PayPal.
PayPal commissions are quite low and reasonable Lili so have another look at their rates. This would certainly save you a lot of additional work.

Hi Lili,

We agree with Gop that PayPal's rates are extremely reasonable. The difficulty with the PayPal widgets that we offer in the sitebuilder is that they cannot be easily amended to suite all of your requirements.

You could always create a custom online store using the Column Divider Widget, Picture Gallery Widget and Text Widget. You could then add custom PayPal buttons to achieve the product options you are hoping for.

It sounds as though you are hoping to create a very large online store, though, so this option might seem like too much work for you.

Please give Ecwid a try, or, you can always use your preferred search engine, such as Google to search for an alternative. If you find a store option that you are interested in, please share it with us. We'll be happy to check it's compatibility with Yola. Thanks!
