How do I transfer my domain away from Yola if the new registrar is attempting to obtain the technical contact information but my domain at Yola is protected by domain privacy.

Hello dieselweasel

Would you mind sharing with us the reason why you want to transfer your domain away from Yola? Have you got a question or problem that we could assist you with?

If you still want to transfer your domain away from us, it is important to note that domain registrars require a mandatory 60-day waiting period between purchase and transfers. This is something beyond our control. If it is less than 60 days since you purchased the domain from Yola, you will not be able to transfer it until that period has elapsed.

When you unlock your domain in your My Yola, your domain privacy will be deactivated at the same time automatically. For detailed instructions please see our tutorial Transfer your domain to a new registrar.

I maintain about a dozen domains and having them spread across multiple registrars is a pain when it comes time to renew. After transferring this domain I will have consolidated them all in one place.

As for the tutorial: I've followed the instructions but it doesn't appear that the transfer is working as suggested. I've received (and forwarded) the authorization code but the other registrar is having trouble determining the technical contact (me).

Performing a whois lookup using the CIRA tools (http://www.registry.ca/cira.html) seems to confirm this as all I get is very basic information regarding the registration and expiry dates, DNS servers for the domain and a Tucows registration number.

Any suggestions on how I can expedite this?

Hi dieselweasel,

Once you've received the authorization code there is nothing further to be done on our end. Also removing privacy is necessary for some domain extensions prior to transfer, but not .ca domains. That said, I can remove it for you if you wish. Please submit a request to support here and be sure it's from the email address associated with your domain.
