Displaying PDF files on the same page

At the moment, this is how I have my PDF page set up (www.mcran.com), go to the Playlists tab. I set it up this way so that users of iPhones can access my site and see everything on it. What I would like to do is have a PDF file displayed on the same page being triggered from a pull down menu listing the PDF files. I would like a pull down menu for each year that the user can select a PDF file from and then have the PDF file presented on the same page. Is this possible?

Boomer gave me an idea to think about regarding my audio files, but now I would like to find an iPhone friendly way of displaying my PDF files on a the same page when a user selects a playlist from a pull down menu or similar trigger.

Hi Sanja,

You will notice that I created a new table option on my Radio Shows page. I used five HTML widgets to create this http://www.mcran.com/radioshowstable.php. It would be neat if I can use one of the scripts that you mentioned so that I can display one table and have the other ones display one at a time. I'm just not quite sure where all the bits and pieces go to create maybe a slider effect.

Hi Randy

Can you let me know what script you're interested in trying out? I can try to set something up but it may take a few days for me to get to it. I hope that's okay.

Oh No! I am so mixed up with all of these scripts that I didn't realize it is the one that you and I were working on. :)

Sure I can still try to set this up. Now.. just to clarify.. you are wanting me to try using the iframe script that Boomer gave you? Or is there another script that you are wanting me to use?

If it's the iframe script - I would encourage you to try setting this up on your own first as you already know how this works as per the lesson that Boomer gave you.

If it's a different script that you're interested in, then please let me know which one it is and I can try to set up an example.

I think I need a solution where Snapshots is not part of the equation, so that I can have something like 4 horizontal tabs each representing a table on my Radio Shows page. The user can select a tab and the table for that tab sill be displayed below. Tab one would be for the table 2010-2008, Tab two would be for table 2005-2001. Tab three would be for table 2000-1996 and tab four would be for table 1995-1993.

I'm not quite sure which script will allow me to do this, but if you can set up a simple example for me, then I should be able to take it from there. Thanks Sanja.

I am working on something as well that is really simple. It's not flashy but it works. I thought about it while I was grocery shopping :). All I have to do is create some sub pages of the Radio Shows page and then create a simple menu that links to these pages. I will try that out and see if I like it.

Hi Sanja,

Check out the Radio Shows page on my site. I xreated a sub menu that seems to work fine. Do you think I should just go with the list view or table view or both?

Thanks

Personally, I prefer the table view. It makes it look more organized and easier on the eyes to read and understand. It also adds a bit of nice color and interest.

Thanks Sanja,

When you have a lot of data like I have, it's always a challenge to find the best way to display it for people visiting my web site. I agree with you that the table view does look better (took me a while to code everything in), but I think that it will be pretty easy to manage.

Thanks for your feedback!!! :)
