DNS management through yola

We purchased our domain through Yola, but we have decided to use a different host. I was trying to update our DNS information through Yola's advanced domain settings, but it does not allow me to modify the A records. Is there some way around this restriction? As I said, the domain was purchased through Yola, but I see that the registrar is Network Solutions. Could I manage my DNS settings through Network Solutions' DNS tools?

Hi Andreea,

I've added the steps to adding an A Record below. If it's not working, you're welcome to post your domain and the A Record you want to change and I will do it for you.

It's not possible to for you to login to Network Solutions to make the change.

Here's how to add an A Record on your Yola-bought domain:

1. Login to your Yola account and make sure you are on the "My Sites" page
2. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and tick the box next to "Enable advanced domain settings"
3. You will be scrolled back up to the top, click on "Advanced domain settings".
4. To access the domain settings, click on [Details] next to the related domain.
5. To access the A Record, click on [Edit this?] next to DNS Entries.
6. To add an A Record, make sure that "A" is selected next to "Add a new DNS Record Type" and click on the "Add" button (you'll need to add two if you would like your domain to work with 'www' and without).
7. In the first A Record, leave the name blank and paste the IP address in the Value field.
8. In the second A Record, add 'www' under the name and paste the IP address in the Value field.
9. The original A Records will still remain but be overwritten.
10. Please note that it can take up to 48 hours for this change to fully propagate across the internet.
