Do I have to renew my Yola online store when I don't use it?

I use the Ecwid online store, not the standard Yola one. I have been sent a renewal notice for a Yola online store at the same time as I was asked to renew my Yola silver subscription. Do I need to renew this function that I don't use? Thanks!

Hi Jane,

Can you clarify as to where you got your Ecwid store from? Did you subscribe through Yola or do you have an account with Ecwid directly?

If you subscribed through Yola the deal is bundled with Silver. If you subscribed directly with Ecwid then you can run the store with Yola Bronze. Silver is over-all a better product as it allows you far more flexibility and power generally.

Hi Gop,

I subscribed through Yola and have the silver package too. So I assume that as I have a silver subscription, I don't need to renew the Yola online store?

Hi Jane,

The Online Store is an add-on and not included in the Silver subscription price. So to keep the Store you do need to pay the store subscription.

Hi Gop,

I'm a bit confused. I only use the Ecwid shop, not the Yola one. Are you saying I still need to subscribe to the Yola shop aswell as subcribing to the Ecwid one? I hope not!

Hi Jane,

Thanks for reaching out to us. If you are no longer using the Online Store feature on your website, you certainly do not need to renew it. Please keep in mind: if you do not renew the YOS, you will lose the ability to continue running your store online.

The Yola Online Store we offer is using the Ecwid Platform. If you signed up through our platform, you will need to continue paying us for this service. If you purchased an Ecwid store through Ecwid and have imported it to your Yola site, you will pay Ecwid directly.

If you could share your domain, or email our support team, we will be able to access your account and clarify who the store is through. Thanks!

Hi Brianna,

My domain is www.laserflair.co.uk. I understand that I will need to continue paying Yola for the Ecwid platform and am happy to do so. I'm trying to remember when I subscribed to it, but I have a feeling it was in February or March rather than January. I just wanted to check exactly what this renewal notice is for and didn't want to pay for a service I don't need! If you could clarify this for me, I would be very grateful.

Hi Brianna,

I've just checked that I paid for my Ecwid store via Yola on 10th April 2012 and I paid £54.86 which was for a part year, Otherwise it would have been around £70. So it would make sense if I were to renew this subscription at the same time as I renew my Yola Silver subscription. Can you please confirm that this is the case?

Yes, I can confirm that you paid a pro-rated fee for your Yola Online Store for the first subscription period in order to bring it inline with your Yola Silver renewal date.
So both your Yola Online Store and your Yola Silver package have the same expiry date now. They're both on auto-renewal, and while your Yola Silver has already been auto-renewed, this is still to come for your Yola Online Store.
