do I need multiple accounts?

Hi everyone,

I am planning on using Yola as a site builder to create websites for my clients. What I need to know is, do I need to create a new login for each client, so they can login with their email address and password (that I give them). I'm a little confused because if I was to create all my websites under one account being my personal account, any of my clients could go into my other websites and alter something by mistake or even worse, delete a site! eek!

I hope I am making sense. I would like to be able to have my clients go in and change their websites as an extra option so they are not having to use me to update their sites all the time (although it would be nice money wise! lol)

Thanks
Barbs:)

Hi Barbs,

Absolutely - you'll need to create separate accounts for each client. Sites can't be transferred between accounts and if you would like your clients to be able to login and edit their site, they will be able to have their own login details. We would recommend that you create different accounts for different clients.

For information on managing your accounts, please check out this link: http://www.yola.com/customer-support/...

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Hi Barbara,

It depends... If you want to give them control of the site or not.

I have built websites for a few business's with Yola and i have used both situations.

If its a 'static' website and there is no need for ongoing additions or if you somehow work out a deal where you get on going payments for adding to it yourself then do it all in the one account - the benifit of this is that you can pay for the footer removal once and it effects all the sites in the account.

If you want to let them add to the site then set up a new account with a 'business' email and pass on the email and password to them - also give them control of the entire email account.

Like Barbara, I too have a client website.
I built it with Dreamweaver and I allow the client to edit part of the site using Contribute. Is it possible to develop a site in yola that only allows a client access to certain areas and would prohibit them from altering the main template of the site?

Hi Woolyback - we don't yet have a feature that allows other people to edit only sections of your website. This is something that we may implement in the future.

I need this feature please! How close are you from implementing it?
Any chance of getting a "private branding" feature?

Hello Josh,
We do understand that a multiple or collaborative login would be nice, though it is not something on our agenda to release in the near future. The idea has been shared within our company and it is something that we may implement in the future.

Hello I suggest you post it as an idea. Just click "Start a new topic" button towards the top banner and you can select "Idea" Then post your idea and Yola will either put it as "Not planned" or "Under Consideration" and if it gets implemented it will be marked to "Implemented"
