Hi there,

I am new to Yola and need some help.

I looked at your tutorials about adding pics. It had an example showing a Mac. Is your applications compatible with Mac and PC ?

I have a Mac and a PC in the office and would like to know which one you would recommend, if I use your applications.

Also, when uploading pics and videos from another site, how can I be sure that it is not copyright protected, orthatI need permission to use it ?

Thanks

Hello Pilar, all pictures on the web are copyright protected unless they say that you can copy it. If someone has a website, and they create a picture there self, they wouldn't want people copying and saving his or her work. But, if it says something like "You may copy and save this image" or something you are free to. But, if it is just a regular image on the web, you usually aren't aloud to copy it because some people have systems for their websites where they can see who is copying their images and they can ban you from their site and do even more. But, anyways, all websites are copyright protected (even yours!) because you made it. But, if it has a .gov domain name, you can copy a picture from there unless it says "Copyright 2010" or something on or near the picture.

I hope this helps! :)

Hi Pilar

Nathan has given you some good information about copyright and images on the internet.

If you are looking for great looking, good quality pictures for your site, I suggest you try out iStockphoto : http://www.istockphoto.com/yola-offer. They are offering a discount to all Yola users! :)
These pictures can help make your site beautiful and give it that professional look.

Yes, you can use either computer or Mac to create your Yola site.

Thank you
Nazlie

Hi Pilar, I just re-read your question and noticed that you had 2 questions! The answer is that yes, Mac is compatible with Yola as well as a PC. I think that all the employees at Yola have Macs. Also the browser that is recommended to use with Yola is: Firefox. But, I use Google Chrome and it works great.

I hope this helps!
