Hi, When I saw the information in GBBO they said that the domain co.uk is was free for 1 year, but I only have the domian yolasite.com free. Have I paid for my co.uk £12.99 per year? it is not free? Thanks.

Hello,
If you are already a Yola account holder and would like to take advantage of the GBBO free domain package offering and/or the discounted Yola Silver package you can definitely do this by signing up here: http://www.yola.com/gbbo. However, please note that the account you create through the GBBO offering will need to remain separate from the account you already have with Yola, we will not be able to affiliate a newly created account, or aspects of the new account, with any current accounts.

Kind Regards,
Emmy

Hello Emmy,

Thank you for your answer. But when I did my registration I went to this website http://www.gbbo.co.uk/ they showed the following information:

Create a website for your business in 15 minutes, for free

Businesses of every type and size need to be found online. Use our simple online tool to create your first website - no technical knowledge needed. Update your site from any computer, for free.

Here's what you'll get:

FREE. co.uk domain for 1 year
FREE easy-to-update website for 1 year
FREE email address @yourdomain
FREE support

When I did get started the following website appeared: http://www.yola.com/gbbo and they said that I am already registered and have to log in, so I logged in and in this moment I am in my yola account but I can't find all the free benefits that they said. I made my free website but I don't have the free domain .co.uk for 1 year or the free email address@yourdomain. At the moment I only have my free domain with yolasite.

Please help me to get the free benefits.

Thanks,

Claudia

Hi Claudia

Emmy is currently offline, but I'm able to assist.

When you go through the sign-up process on the GBBO website, you will be asked to choose a domain. However, if you did not choose the domain at the sign up, you are able to do so afterwards.

To claim your domain, go to My Yola > Domains and follow the steps to buy a domain from Yola. At the payments screen you will be asked to enter your credit card details. Once this has been entered, the .co.uk domain will be registered to you, but you will not be charged for it.

Once you have registered your domain, you will be able to get your free email associated with the domain, by signing up with Google Apps. Please see our online tutorial, Setting up your domain with Google Apps.

Hope this helps! Let us know if you need further assistance.

Thank you
Nazlie

Hi Nazlie,

Thank you for your reply. I did the steps that you told me and I got my domain co.uk, however it was not free. Yola charged me £ 22.50 and took my money from my bank account. I did the transaction with a visa card from an English bank, so I have to say that all this publicity for GBBO is lies.

I have another question. I am using in my website the eCommerce tools. I put the price in all the items that I want to sell but I couldn't find the place where I can put the price for the postage. Is there any place where I can put the postage charged?

Regards,

Claudia

Hi Claudia

We have just checked your account details and see that you signed up through Yola and not via the GBBO website.

The GBBO program is exclusively for British citizens who would like to have a business website. To take advantage of the free offers that come with this package, including your free .co.uk domain, you will need to sign up through the GBBO site otherwise you will be charged for the domain, which is what has happened in your case. Our payments department will contact you directly to work out a solution regarding this confusion as we don't want to disclose account details on our forum.

Regarding your online store question, you have a couple options.

You can add the cost for postage and packaging (shipping) charges in the description field or add it to the total cost of your product.

Alternatively, you can use custom Paypal buttons and add the shipping rates on Website Payments Standard Integration Guide PDF.

After you have created your custom buttons, add them to your Yola site using the HTML Widget. If you use this method, you will need to create your own page layout, using the Text and Picture Widgets in Yola.

Thank you
Nazlie

Hello lee.cakecraft,

Unfortunately, we don't have the facility to import a site in. Perhaps, what you can do is take this as an opportunity to start anew and revamp your site! If you need any assistance with this, please let us know!
