My domain name is currently registered with a different company and will expire at the end of the month. Is there an easy way for Yola to pick it up so my website with Yola will continue to run without any glitches?

Hello,

I would suggest you transfer your domain to Yola so that you don't have to wait till it expires.

We would like to help you with this process.  Before we begin, please note and make sure that you have followed these steps:

    * Your domain needs to have been registered for more than 60 days for it to be eligible for a transfer.
    * Make sure you can access the email address originally used to register your domain. Our domain registration partner, OpenSRS, will send a confirmation email to that address once you begin the transfer.
    * You will need to get an EPP or authorization code from your current domain registrar. For steps for a few popular registrars: How to get the authorization code to transfer your domain to Yola.
    * Check that your domain is unlocked. To find out if your domain is unlocked, look it up on www.who.is. If the Status is described as "ok" then it is ready for transfer. If the Status is "clientDeleteProhibited" then the domain is still locked.
    * Please remember to remove Privacy from your domain's settings.

Once you have done this you will be able to begin the transfer. Please follow these steps:

   1. Login to your Yola account.
   2. Select the "Domains" tab.
   3. Then, under "Add a domain you already own", select "Purchased a domain from another registrar? Transfer it to Yola!".
   4. You can then click on "Transfer a domain" to enter the transfer steps.
   5. You then enter your domain and select which site you would like it assigned to.

Payment for the Transfer

The cost to transfer your domain is USD34.95 per year, valid for one year. You can choose to pay for more than one year at a time and receive a discount.  If your domain is set to expire in a few months time, the fee you pay us will be effective from that expiration date, for a year.

After you've entered your domain name in the above screen, you will then see a payment screen where you can select your payment terms and enter your details. Click on "purchase" and proceed to the next step.

Once you click on "Purchase", If you have completed the steps correctly, you will get a "Success" page telling you what steps will come next.

Transferring Process

After you've submitted your domain for transfer, the following will happen:

   1. Our domain partner OpenSRS will send an email to the address you used to register the domain.
   2. When you receive this email, please follow the instructions authorizing OpenSRS to transfer the domain. This is done to protect against fraudulent transfers.
   3. OpenSRS will then initiate contact with your current domain registrar to transfer the domain. You will receive an email when the transfer is complete. Please note: The complete transfer may take up to 12 days.

Unfortunately we have tired that already. The email address that was used to create the account with the other company is no longer in use. And when going through the transfer process it will only send an email to that address.

Any other ideas?

Thanks!
