Domain directs to Yola page but Yola says it is not pointed at Yola.

When I type my domain name in my browser it says that my domain is pointed at Yola but when I try to add my domain in My Yola it tells me that it is not. I have followed the help instructions for configuring my godaddy domain to point to Yola but it is still not working. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

I have the A record @ pointing to 184.72.229.176 and the CNAME www set to @.

The "Configuring your Godaddy domain' help topic on Yola.com says to only have 1 A record pointing to 184.72..229.176 and a CNAME of www pointing to @. But the information on the Yola forums says I need to have 2 A records. Which is correct?

My domain is pettepiece.com

Hi Brian,

You have configured your Godaddy DNS correctly as described. The difference between the two explanations is related to updating of information and the forum discussions occurred before the Godaddy update but the 1 A record and the 1 CNAME is the current instruction and it does work.

I suspect that the message you are seeing in your My Yola is because the records are still propagating through or there really is a problem with the DNS used by Yola.. This can take a couple of days but generally much sooner. Weekends can be a time of slow downs. I would give it some more time (unless you have already done that 48 hours, or more, ago).

Hi Brian

I checked the DNS records and I see that the domain is pointed. However, only one A Record is showing on our side. You need two A Records to display. You may need to log into your GoDaddy account again and repoint the domain if you are still unable to see it when you try to publish your site.

The domain seems to be pointing correctly for now even with only 1 A Record so I think I'm going to leave it. If it doesn't work in the future then I'll add another one.
Looks like it just needed more time for Yola to see that it was pointing.

It's the same config as I am using so I was confident that the tutorial you followed was correct. Simply time.

Happy to hear it's working now, Brian. Sometimes it can take up to 48 hours to propagate across the web after you make the changes.
