Hello Cameron,

Have you checked your Yola subscription? Domains and hosting are 2 separate payments. Yola mail is an add-on to hosting and may be separate also(?). Recently there is a need for verification of your domain and you may have received an email on this issue.

Hello Cameron

Your domain, seekingstreet.com, has been suspended in accordance with the new ICANN policies. You can read more about it here : How the recent ICANN changes affect your website. ICANN tried to send you an e-mail to the e-mail address under which your domain is currently registered, but it seems that their e-mail bounced back.

You will be able to retrieve your domain, if you follow these steps:
  1. Log into your Yola account.

  2. Click on “Domains”.

  3. Click on “Advanced Settings” next to the domain name.

  4. Go to “Edit your domain registration info”.

  5. Change the email address to one you have access to.

  6. Click “Update details”.

  7. You will receive an email from Yola at the new email address. Follow the instructions and click on the link in the email. If you don't find the e-mail, please check your Spam and Junkmail folders as well.

  8. The link will redirect you to a page to verify your new email address.

  9. Check the box to agree to the Terms.

  10. Click “Submit” to validate the change.

Your domain will then be validated at the domain registry and be removed from suspension.

Ok, looks like the domain is up and running and all my emails in the last few days are lost. What a crock of s#$t. I do feel Yola could have done more to alert it's customers, nothing of this was mentioned on My Yola nor did I receive any correspondence on my current email which I receive all or yola's correspondence.

Hello Cameron

I'm sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you. As this new policy was introduced by ICANN, they do try to contact domain registrants via e-mail to inform about it if it applies. Doing this, they rely on the e-mail address customers use for their domain registration. Even before they changed their policy, they regularly sent e-mails to domain registrants to remind them to keep their registration information up to date. The reason for this is that they need you to be reachable whenever they need to inform you about important news.

We do not currently have a way to send this email to a different email address than the one associated with the domain, or to put custom messaging in My Yola. As we adjust to this new policy, which is something we are also coming to terms with, we will look into ways of improving our communication with affected customers. I am sorry that you were negatively affected by this new policy of ICANN and I am glad to hear that the issue is now resolved.
