I have recently purchased a domain name and although I have provided the company with the YOLA IP address, it still doesn't appear to be working. Does YOLA have to point to them or the new domain name too?

If you have purchased a domain name elsewhere you need to edit the A Record to point towards our ip address and then publish your site to the domain name; have you done this all ready. Can you give me the domain name and I can look to see if the pointing has been done properly.

Hi IdG from S.A.

When I visit your new domain name I'm taken to a placeholder page. This usually happens when you have done everything right on your DNS settings but have not published your site from Yola to your own domain name.

To fix this go to "Publish My Site", click on the link in the bottom left hand corner that says "I already own a domain name" and add your own domain and then click "Next" and you will be taken through all the steps to publish your site.

If your site is already published to another domain name you can edit by:

1. Clicking on the drop down arrow next to the yellow "Update My Site" button.
2. Click on "Publishing Settings".
3. Click on "Add a Domain you Own".
4. In the dialog box that opens, add in your new domain name and publish your site.

Please let us know if you have any difficulty getting your site up and running.

Hi IdG,

Once your domains are pointed to Yola, you can easily assign (publish) more than one domain to your site by accessing the Advanced Domain Settings. Here's how:-

1. Login to your account on Yola.
2. On the My Sites page, scroll to the bottom and check the box next to "Enable Advanced Domain Settings".
3. Scroll back up to the top and click on the link "Advanced Domain Settings".
4. A new page will open, if your domains are not yet published to your site, click on [Add a domain that I already own].
5. If your domains are already published to a site, you can assign and change which sites you would like them to be published to.
6. Click on "Click to apply changes".

When you assign more than one domain to a site, you will be able to assign a domain as "Primary Domain", this will be the canonical (primary) domain and the one the other domains will redirect to.

I hope that answers your questions, please let us know if you need any other information.
