Hello kate,

Your domain is your property and you can move it around anywhere that will take it.
Generally a transfer costs extra from the winning registrar and usually upfront registration for one year minimum. Some registrars will credit this additional time to subsequent registration periods but that is not a given. There can also be significant delays before regaining access to your domain once the transfer is initiated. Typically 2 weeks.

A faster, cheaper and instant alternative is to keep your domain registered with Yola and point it to another hosts servers. Yola have the relevant tutorials for both actions. There are 2 alternative processes for pointing your domain but generally only one is used by another registrar: You can change your Name Servers if that is required or you can add A records to point to their servers.

Hello Kate,

The Yola Sitebuilder is a WYSIWYG website builder. You do not need to be knowledgeable in HTML in order to build a website.

Please can you let us know where you're struggling and we can assist you with this process.

If you still wish to transfer your domain elsewhere, then the information Gop has given you will help you.

thanks thats good to know, the web builder on yola is ok, but the styles and layouts are so basic and not really up to date with whats out there, e.g. moonfruit. I would like to be able to layer text over pictures, move the pages bar etc change the layout in a morde modern way

Hello Kate

Yola Styles are highly customizable.

To layer text over a picture, you can e.g. use the Custom Panel Widget and use your picture as a background image. Afterwards you can put a Text Widget onto it.

You can move the navigation bar or change the layout of the Style Template by using the Site CSS.

To assist you more I'd need to know what design exactly you're trying to achieve, and which feature you're missing to do a particular thing. E.g., what would be a "more modern layout" from your viewpoint, can you describe it to me in more detail, please?
