Domain name is mine but Yola is not linking to it.

I previously have written that something is wrong with my domain name and it was told to me by your customer service that it had expired (evansvillefolkdancers.com). However, it does not expire until August 2013 and I had it set to "auto-renew" and it keeps redirecting my website to a bogus site. Please can you help me?

This is the second time I have written about this. It appears that somebody has hacked into our website. If I do preview in sitebuilder it appears fine, but whenever I go directly to the site it is not there. This was brought to my attention by two different persons and I have cleared the cache but no resolve as well as tried it on different computers.

Thank you,
Erich Shelton

Stefan,
Has there been any update? Our site has been down over a week to my knowledge and possibly more. I'm having more people contact me complaining! Any ideas??

Thanks,
Erich

Hi Erich

It looks like your domain has expired, and the expiry date on your account must have been wrong, This is probably because the date wasn't synced properly when your domain was transferred to us in 2010. You should have received renewal notifications, though, maybe you can check your Spam folders if you missed our e-mails.

Still, there seems to be an error, and we're busy finding out for you if we can still get your domain back for you, or if it's locked and you'd need to wait for it to become available again.

I'm very sorry for the inconvenience caused, and I'll update you on this thread as soon as I have any news.

I have tried to renew it three times and done so through PayPal. Am I being charged? I can forward receipts from Paypal. It seems to be taking my money but not renewing. According to my records the domain doesn't expire until August 18. Yola has been hosting the domain for three years so why suddenly is it not available? This makes no sense and I haven't found any reminders that it was expiring. Help!

If I signed up with yola on August 19, 2010 isn't it for an annual renewal which would make sense that it would expire on August 18, 2013? Plus it was set to "auto-renewal".

Hello Erich

What you say makes absolutely sense and we are aware of it. We've heard back from the instances involved for your domain renewal, and we'd need your PayPal transaction number(s) to make sure you aren't double-charged. To protect your privacy I'd suggest to rather not post this kind of information on this thread, to but continue with us via e-mail (that's why I'll close this thread as "solved".) Please send us your request using our Contact Support Form. You won't need to repeat the whole story, but you can add a link to this forum thread. Our payment specialists will follow up with you. Thanks.

Hello Erich

I'm very happy to let you know that we've sorted out your domain issue! Your website is up and running for me again. Please clear your cache and cookies and try to open your website.

Another good news: We've given you an extra free year of domain registration on evansvillefolkdancers.com to say sorry, so it will now only expire in January 2015.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Stefan,

Thank you for your assistance and for the added time on the domain. Technology is a squirrelly business and I appreciate your working to sort out the bugs. Cheers.
