Domain Name Issue.

I have a scaffolding website with a domain name, however I have to change this due to copyright reasons. Is there any way I could change my domain name to something different, or buy a new domain name, and have my site directed to the new domain. If any of these solutions are possible, how would I do this?

Thanks, Brad.

Hello Brad,

Buying a new name is what you would need to do as you can't change the name of a current domain.

After you purchase the new domain then you just publish it to this new domain.

You can purchase the new domain from Yola if you wish and it makes the process very easy. You would publish to your new and unpublish your old.

Hello Brad

Gop is right (thanks).

When you publish your website to your new domain, you can still assign the old domain to your website as well until the old domain expires, so that users who use your old domain URL will still get on your website. This is unless you infringe on someone else's copyright while keeping your old domain name.

Thank you Gop and Stefan for responding so quickly, you were both a real help. I have bought a new domain and published my site to this new domain, it was easy and everything is working perfectly. Thanks again for all your help!

Kind Regards, Brad.
