Simon, this is a very common problem with google apps. Instead of using html files, which google cannot find, use a header meta tag for verification, which you can set by clicking SITE, SITE SETTINGS, SITE TRACKING CODE. You can paste the code you got there, and the verification should work.

Hello Simon,
We actually need you to use the TXT Record for setting up your email with Google Apps. We have a tutorial that will help step you through this: Setting up email with Google Apps. I hope that will help!

Kind Regards,

Wondering if there is an update to this tutorial. Google apps doesn't do TXT records anymore, they have a meta tag which I modified as it appeared to be similar to the TXT record. In Yola it says Gmail is configured, but it isn't verifying in Google (although it has only been a few minutes). Just want to make sure I'm not screwing anything up !
