Hi Darren

Sorry to hear this! Can you tell me how long ago you tried to publish your site (it can take up to 48 hours, so this could be a factor)

You seem to have done the right things. It might help to contact your domain name service and ask them for guidance.

I hope we can get to the bottom of this soon so that you can get your site published!

Best wishes
Monique

Hi Darren,

Have you told the SynthaSite Site Builder that you want it to publish using your own domain name? To check this, when your site is open, go to "Publishing Settings". From there click on "Publishing Settings", then on "Manage Your Domains".

Under the setting for "Domain you already own" make sure that "www.ultimatehorseboxes.co.uk" is entered there.

After that republish your site.

Please let us know if that helps.

Hi there, I have just checked the publishing settings and added the www infront of my domain name, then republished it. No good just the same. The page I'm seeing is the page from Heart Internet asking us to upload our site? Thank you for your advice.
Darren.

Hi Darren,

If I do a trace on your domain (www.ultimatehorseboxes.co.uk) the DNS settings not have an A record pointing to the SynthaSite IP address, which is 208.75.208.172. Instead it is pointing to 82.110.105.10. That would be why it is not working.

This situation could be:
1. Because the DNS change you made is still propogating across the internet
2. The change you made was incorrect or was not applied

Did you make the change yourself using domain management tools, or did your service provider make it on your behalf. Please follow up to see if the change was made.

For more information see the thread at http://getsatisfaction.com/SynthaSite...

I have an unassigned brand new domain name and I cannot figure out with all the confusion between here and on godaddy how to assign it to my site here. I keep ending up on a page at godaddy to assign it to a site there, but cannot find this "DNS management page" that is so cavalierly referred to in the instructions here. Now what???

Hi 1331,

Here are some steps that might help you with GoDaddy (they can also be found on this tutorial: http://www.synthasite.com/tutorials/p...)

Set up your A Record to point to SynthaSite. Here's how:
1. Go to the GoDaddy website
2. Under 'Domains' on the menu choose 'My Domains'. This will take you to your GoDaddy domain manager.
# NOTE: at this stage you may be required to login
3. From the 'Domain Manager' interface, click on the domain you want to edit
4. Now click: Click on 'Total DNS Control and MX Records'
5.Now you need to edit your A record. Click on the icon in the section: A("host")
6. In the box where it says "Points To IP Address:" put the SynthaSite IP: 208.75.208.172 and click OK
7. Your domain should now point to SynthaSite. You can test if this has worked by typing your domain into your browser. If all has worked correctly you should end up at the SynthaSite homepage. Don't be too worried if this is not the case immediately, bear in mind that DNS changes, like you have just made, can take up to 48 hours to propagate through the internet.

Please let us know if you need any other help - changing your DNS settings can be tricky!

Ok! Think I figured it out. That godaddy! It is like they tossed it all in a bucket and gave it a good shake. I can only hope it worked, but once I got to the right screen the synthasite instructions were excellent.

I transfered my domain to you guys and its not working. Its been about three days now and am not sure why it keeps coming up on godaddy's dns error site. It still says pending when I look in my domains on yola. Is there something I'm not doing? Thanks!

If you can copy your domain URL to here, this will allow people to see where the problem may lie.

Joe,

Have a look at the Tutorial Configuring your GoDaddy domain and see if it all balances.

I think you have it pointed to the wrong IP address. Make sure it points to 184.72.229.176 and not 68.178.232.100 as it seems to be.

Hi joezohar

I checked the DNS records and it looks like the transfer has not completed yet. Please contact GoDaddy to see why there may be a problem with the transfer. Also, please email support@yola.com so that our DNS team can investigate any problems.

Thank you.
