Hi Daniel,

Generally you can't get a refund on domains because of the process of Yola paying their partner and the process requires assigning the domain to the client. After the purchase of the domain it is as you say locked for 60 days and can not be transferred. This is an ICANN regulation affecting all registrars. You can however re-point the domain to another website host and this isn't restricted to any time frame. it can be re-pointed at any time.

Yola have a tutorial on the process Changing the name servers

There's also a write up on the management of domains Managing the domain you bought from Yola

Hello Daniel,

I've checked your account and can see that you didn't buy a domain from us (Gop couldn't know that, but thanks for his reply anyway!). So you just bought our Yola Bronze package for transferring your domain as I presume.

Gop is right when he says that Yola has unfortunately no control over the ICANN regulations, so we can't change the 60 days that you will need to wait for a transfer. :-(

But your Yola Bronze package allows you to point your domain from another registrar to us. So you can still point your domain to us for the time being. In 60 days, you will be able to do the transfer. Here is our tutorial to help you point your external domain to your Yola website: Publish to a domain you already own.

I hope this helps and you will stay with Yola to make your website! :-)
