Hi Gareth

There are services that give away free domain names (but they are not dot coms) and a number of SynthaSite customers make use of these services to publish their sites. Here is one you may want to look at: http://www.freedomain.co.nr/

I hope this helps!

OMG! Monique, why don't you have suggested him Synthasite

I had visited a couple of websites offering free sub-domains and publishing without any HTML but all suck!
Nothing can compete Synthasite. The others give limited space, editing options and give banners

I agree. I am not recommending that service as an alternative to SynthaSite! Some people prefer the shorter .co.nr, so I mentioned is as an option for your SynthaSite website. Personally I would either use a free SynthaSite subdomain or purchase a .com from GoDaddy.com. You are quite right by the way - no one can give away a free first level domain. Soon you will be able to buy a first level domain through SynthaSite. That is going to be awesome!

Monique, the website u suggested gives free sub-domains not domains. No one can offer free domains
BTW u can check zymic.comwhich gives options but not online editing options without HTML

yeah i used zymic and HATED it... i ended up purchasing from Circle R Domains, it was the cheapest I could find... they run specials and discounts frequently and I just caught them at a good time, however they have also had them everytime i needed to renew as well. synthasites fee ones are convient but long! zymic SUCKS do not use it, I tried for about 2 months and finally gave up, their webmail sucks, the customer service is non existent and its is a long difficult process for up loads.... synthasite has by far been the easiest interface and has the best customer relations!
