Why is my newly created site opening as ".yolasite.com"?

1) New site created (via my Silver package) on 20th March 2012 (16 days ago) ...
www.mentorsavailableinsa.com BUT this is "Pending" (since 20th March) and, instead, my site opens as www.mentorsavailableinsa.yolasite.com.
2) During an enormous amount of wasted time and emails back & forth to Yola Support (all containing an official Yola Support reference number) ... I am told (in a nutshell) that:-
2. i.) Many Yola customers are experincing this annoyance.
2. ii.) Yola Technical Engineers are busy working frantically on this issue.
2.iii.) Nobody in Yola can say how long it will take (days/weeks/months?) before my site will open as ".com" (which I have paid for 16 days ago) instead of with ".yolasite.com" (which is NOT what I paid for 16 days ago).

Hoo! Boy! ... where is Vinny Lingham? Vinny, please come back!

Anybody else out there suffering the same agony?

Hello Peter,

I would be very surprised if you haven't been directed to this fix it tutorial My domain is redirecting to my Yolasite subdomain. It sounds as if this system has failed but no way for me to test it as a user and I am unaware of it failing.

If this has been overlooked it's the simple way of correcting the problem.

Thank you for your interest and suggestion ... I do appreciate it.

The Birds are a pair of Pied Kingfishers - found in our South African sub-region.
Although their markings appear to be identical, closer examination will reveal that the male's is subtly different from the female's. They are about 15cm in size and are truly striking as they flash and hover above the water - doing what they do ... which "fish"!

I found a great album of images of these birds on this site. Love to see them one day. Bet they are hard to come across??

As you will no doubt see, progress re: my Yola issues seems to be reaching the desired conclusion ... it seems to have all started with a Payment glitch (on the Yola side). Cause for some concern would you not agree? Had I not drawn my 3 problems to Yola's attention, I wonder where I (& others) would be right now.

Back to the Pied Kingfishers ... yes, one is lucky to see them. I like the fact that the female's "pair" of black spots on her chest can be likened to a pair of breasts - thus making it easy to distinguish between male & female. If you ever have the opportunity and money to visit South Africa, then I would recommend that you plan a 5 day safari to the Moremi Game Reserve (in Botswana) - this area is truly a miracle of nature ... Google it and you will see what I mean.

It has been very nice chatting with you ... Yola's "GetSatisfaction" seems to serve many seemingly unrelated purposes! Stay well.

Peter, we fully understand your anger and frustration and wish we had better news for you. One thing I can assure you is that we will happily refund you for the time that your custom domain has not functioned properly or extend your domain, whichever you prefer.

While it's true that we cannot guarantee when this will be resolved, we are committed to keeping you updated on our progress. I see Lyall tried reaching you via phone and email today. He will continue following up with you until your problem is resolved.

I'm not sure why Peter wrote "many users", but I can assure you that it is not a general problem with Yola at the moment and only affects a few individual cases. If it was a general problem, the forum would be overflowing with posts on that matter.

As a regular and active forum user you should know that Yola is not afraid to let users know if there are general problems. A good example is the Yola Mail bug where one of our engineers explained the situation.

I have emailed you regarding the latest update on these issues. When we spoke I mentioned many users are affected by this issue (specifically referring to the matter of your Yola Mail mailbox not being accessible, as Stefan mentions). The matter of your domain pending is not widespread or affecting many users. I apologize that I was not clear enough when discussing this.

The last thing we want is to frustrate you and clearly we have failed in that regard.
I will reach out to you via email with an update as soon as I have one.

Yes, in fact my "mentorsavailableinsa.com" site became available to me some 28 hours ago!!! I would appreciate it if you can explain to me (in layman's terms) exactly what caused the ".yolasite.com" issue and what steps were taken to correct it?

For the record:-
1) I have now received my official Yola Order/Payment notification (some 16 days late).
2) I can now access my "mentorsavailableinsa" Mail Box (some 18 days late).
3) I can now access my "mentorsavailableinsa.com" site (some 20 days late).

However, by going to My Yola/Domains, you must agree with me when I put it to you that:-
AAA) The sub-Domain "mentorsavailableinsa.yolasite.com" should not exist?
BBB) There are 3 "mentorsavailableinsa.com" domains (each marked "pending") which, also, should not exist?

All that I want to see on My Yola/Domains page are:-
1x "mentorsavailableinsa.com" - Active for 12 months together with its Mailbox
1x "galofin.com" - Active until 2016 and its Mailbox
1x "oldgalofinservicescc.com" - Active (but not published) for 12 months.

Your successful attention to all of the above would then close my "Problem".

The issue lied with our not completing the payment of your domain and mail box - you have done everything required on your side. We have since completed the payment on our system and are now working on having your 'mentorsavailableinsa.com' mailbox display in your My Yola account.

I respond to your points in order:
AAA) The sub-Domain "mentorsavailableinsa.yolasite.com" should not exist?
Your site was published to the subdomain which I have since removed - this is no longer displaying in your My Yola account.

BBB) There are 3 "mentorsavailableinsa.com" domains (each marked "pending") which, also, should not exist?
The 3 pending "mentorsavailableinsa.com" domains have been removed.

1x "mentorsavailableinsa.com" - Active for 12 months together with its Mailbox -
is Active for 12 months however we are working on your mailbox displaying in your account (a workaround allowing you access to this mailbox was sent via email previously)

1x "galofin.com" - Active until 2016 and its Mailbox
is Active until 2016 and it's Mailbox is in order and displaying in your account

1x "oldgalofinservicescc.com" - Active (but not published) for 12 months.
is Active for 12 months.

I will provide you with an update when we have resolved the matter of your "mentorsavailableinsa.com" mailbox not displaying in your account.

I am happy to confirm that the issue affecting your mailbox 'administrator@mentorsavailableinsa.com' is now fixed, and your mailbox displays in your Yola account. You can access this by changing to your domain 'mentorsavailableinsa.com' after clicking the Yola Mail tab.

Hi Lyall,

As far as I am concerned, the "mailbox fix" has never been an issue for at least these last 7 days (I successfully SENT & RECEIVED emails - certainly on the 9th & 10th April!!!) ... so why you are telling me now that the matter has NOW been fixed is a puzzlement to me.

Nevertheless, all that now remains - before this whole sad story can be marked as SOLVED - is for me to inform you as to our (i.e.: my colleagues and myself) decision re: Yola's offered Refund or Extention. In this regard, I hope to be able to discuss this with my colleagues with the next 4 days (the are out of town at present).

Please do not mark this Case Reference Number as Solved/Closed ... yet. I will tell you when to do so - probably on 17th April 2012.
