That is an interesting idea! However, we test all of the templates in SynthaSite before we offer them to you to chose from. That way we can be sure that they will work well in for our users without bugs.

If there is a particular style/template you would like that we don't currently offer please mention it here and we'll see what we can do!

Right now, you need to choose a template from the Styles we have on offer. You cannot upload templates from external sources.

We are working on making the styles more customisable. I'm sorry I don't have better news for you in this regard.

I would really love a clean business like design. The headers are too large and do not portray the type of image I am looking for. Clean, crisp, professional.

Thank you so much.

Me, I just want plain templates. I dont like the ones that show flowers, pets, skulls or anything else on them. Just something that has a couple of blending colours on it. Regardless, Im having fun with this site apart from the putting text then pic then text then pic. Thats really annoying.

Hi Sivvy,

We have 4 templates that are quite blank and allow you to upload your own backgrounds. They are called CleanSlate, BareNecessities, NoFrills and SqueakyClean.

These styles can be found in the first 10 of the style selection (click on 'Change Style' to see the style selection).

To change your background on your page, follow these steps:
1. Click on the Properties tab on the sidebar on the right
2. At the bottom of the Properties tab, under 'Background image' click on the three dots (...) to choose or upload an image
3. Click on ok and the image will be added as a background to your page

Please note that the background will apply to that specific page and not to the whole site. To remove the background image, follow the same steps above and click on the 'None' button in the image selector dialog box that opens.

Can you give us more information on why putting text and pics and then text is annoying? What's going wrong?

Hi Marije
I only started mine today, but I noticed when you want to add onto your webpage you have to drag the text box first to write, then I have to drag the image box across, then to write again I have to drag the text box again over and over. My website is http://sivaro.synthasite.com/ so you can take a look at what I mean. I have to write and add pics and find this very frustrating to drag everything across in order to get my desired look.
Hope this makes sence.

You can add pictures in a text widget, here's how:
1. Drag and drop a text widget onto your page.
2. Click "insert image" on the text editing toolbar (the icon that looks like a green tree in a picture frame, roughly in the middle of the toolbar).
3. The file manager will open up and allow you to browse for and select an image, as described above.
4. Using the text widget allows you to insert a number of pictures in the same text box. You can add as many pictures in a row as your chosen style will support. Separate each picture by one or two spaces for the best results.

I hope that helps!

Hi Sivvy,

Here's how to add links to your page:

1. Drag and drop a text widget onto your page.
2. In the text widget type the words that you want people to click on (this is your link text).
3. Highlight the link text and then click on the link button (it's the 10th button from the left in the text editing tool bar, and looks like the link in a chain).
4. A link editor dialogue box will open up and you will be given 4 options. You can link to an email address, an external URL, a page on your own site or a file on your computer.
5. Click on and edit the option appropriate for you.

You will then have a link on your page. To check that your link is working preview your page and then click on the link.

This is a brief explanation of how to add links, we have written a tutorial that shows the process in more detail. Here is the link: http://www.synthasite.com/tutorials/c...

Thank yo so much Ruth & Sivvy! I've been adding images from the "properties" side panel and believe me it's been a pain to try to adjust my site to accommodate all the new "boxes". I hadn't tried to add images using the toolbar. I just thought they'd be the same action. Duh......

Been picking up a little html/css/java coding to enhance my site the way I want to. You guys have inspired me! Again, thank you for this site. I've read some of the bkgd about how this site came about & I have to say you guys have certainly made incredible headway since it's inception only a short time ago. Obviously there is a very talented group "behind the scenes" here........ And those who are willing & able to "volunteer" their expertise in answering some of the questions are a definite asset to this site.

Regards,
Southpoint Shore!
