I know you highly recommend your sitebuilder; but I have an unusually formatted blog that I've made in dreamweaver and need to launch. How might I showcase my website under the domain name that I've already purchased through you?

Hello Cierrasouthdakota,

Your best option is to host your site elsewhere and then point your domain to that host.

Here's how to add an A Record on your Yola-bought domain:

1. Login to your Yola account and make sure you are on the "My Sites" page.
2. Click on "Domains" and then click on "Advanced domain settings".
3. Make sure the correct domain name is selected on the drop-down list on the right.
4. To access the A Record, click on "Change your DNS settings".
5. To add an A Record, click on "Add DNS Record".
6. Make sure that "A" is selected (you'll need to add two A Records) if you would like your domain to work with 'www' and without):

* In the first A Record, leave the name blank and paste the IP address in the Value field.
* In the second A Record, add 'www' under the name and paste the IP address in the Value field.

7. The original A Records will still remain but be overwritten.

Please note that it can take up to 48 hours for this change to fully propagate across the internet (though usually a lot less).

For more information on accessing the DNS Settings on your domain, please view this tutorial: DNS for your Yola domain.

**Please note: Changing your domain settings can result in your site no longer working. Please be sure you understand the consequence of the changes you are making.**

Thank You for your help.

How do I get a rebate for the domain name I purchased from you? I need to register elsewhere; I cannot afford your services as they do not offer hosting.

Thank You,
Cierra

Hi cierrasouthdakota

Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds for your domain. Our Terms of Service states: "You can not return or exchange your domain, all sales are final."

However, if you host your website somewhere else and keep your domain with Yola. We have a tutorial on our website on how to do this, here: Managing a domain you bought from Yola.

And if you would prefer to host your website and your domain somewhere else, you can transfer your domain. The tutorial for that is here: Transfer your domain to a new domain registrar.

I hope this helps! Let us know if you have more questions about this.
