Please help me make a dropdown menu for my website. I don't understand html, css , etc :-( I have Yola Silver and my website isn't published yet, but it's called BridgeFinancialSolutions.com (if that helps at all) I feel like I am making a big mess! LOL

Hello Rivkah,

Drop down menus are offered within the Premium styles. Have you tried any of these?

Hi GOP, yes, I have a premium style but it does not seem to have a drop down menu. I do see the submenu option but that is horizontal, not vertical. I didn't really understand how that works. Is it possible to make a regular drop down?

Yes the dropdown offered by Yola is a horizontal configuration. When employed it drops down a horizontal line of additional menu(sub-menu) items that are available. This works as well as any vertical drop-down and has some advantages in that the drop-downs won't cover or mask elements below it whereas many vertical drop-downs actually cover-up the content beneath and the layout needs to be adjusted substantially to overcome this.. Sometimes this is an issue.

Yola also has flyout menu options for their non-premium styles and these more closely resemble the traditional vertical drop-downs.

To use a vertical drop-down you would need to employ a third-party solution. Generally these are javascript or jquery solutions (not all). I hesitate to suggest this as Yola has made alterations to their system previously that have incapacitated some third party JS add-ons. They work for a while but if there is any addition of conflicting code it may well cease to work.

Hello Rivkah

Yola doesn't offer drop down menus yet, but as Gop mentioned, the Flyover Menus are close to such menus and currently available with all Free Styles (not Premium Styles). All you need to do is to create submenus. For Free Styles, they will be shown in Flyover Menus when hovering over the menu links.
