Easy Site Promotion

A few good ways I've found to promote my site are:

1) If it's a business site, post an advert on Craigslist. Because it's online you can really post in whatever city/region you want. Ads expire every 7 days so you have to go on and repost once a week. I've been getting tons and tons of hits from my ads in Craigslist.

2) Make a few blogs on blogger.com or whatever other blog sites, and link to your site all over the place. The more pages that link to your site, the higher your Google page rank could get. After you make your blogs, you can go on sites like tecnorati, blogarama, and Blog Catalog, and post your blog there (basically free blog advertising. People will click on your blog, then see the link to your site).

3) Make a Myspace page for your site. Join groups on Myspace with similar interests to your site and post links to your site in their Group forums (be careful not to get tagged for spamming by doing this too often).

4) Go into Yahoo chat rooms with similar interests to your site (ex. if you have a Christian site, go into the Christian chatrooms) and advertise there.

5) Make good looking banners and get other sites with similar interests to use them to link to your site. You can get them to do this by offering to link back to their site with one of their banners.

6) Occasionally if you look online you can find good, legit free advertising opportunities where you can advertise in classifieds such as Craigslist for free.

7) If it's a business site, make a few simple fliers and print them out and leave them in public places (remember to have your full webaddress somewhere on the flier). For example: I made some fliers using Microsoft Word, printed them at my school for free, and then left them all over the place on tables in the Library, classrooms, cafeteria etc. Often schools like my college will let you tape the fliers up in buildings if you get them approved. Leaving smaller fliers on tables is a great way to advertise without having to get things approved.

Hope this helps. Just a few quick ideas.

Hello Marty,
I took a look at your site and see that you have your meta tag for Google Webmaster verification at the top of the page. There is a special place for this tag in the Content Sidebar under the Properties Tab. I am going to give you a link to our tutorial for verifying your site with Google Webmaster and submitting a sitemap. It's important that you use our instructions for this as they are specific to websites built with Synthasite. Google Webmaster Tutorial.

I hope this helps and if you have further questions please let us know.

Kind Regards,
Emmy
