When I try to edit a page on my website, the page goes beserk. For instance I have a picture of my church on top of the Home page. When I try to edit the text, another picture shows up about middles of page and double text. On the other pages when I try to edit text, the tops of text that contains a list of page names drop down middle of page. I need help.

Hi Danny

Thank you for reporting this issue. This sounds like a very strange and annoying bug indeed.

Could you tell me what browser you are using? (We recommend Firefox, but we know that people experience bugs in this browser as well)

Could you also tell us roughly what time (and time zone) you experienced this problem? We did some debugging yesterday, so it would be good to know if the problem is still occurring.

Does refreshing or quitting the site builder and coming back in help at all?

Any more info you could give us would be extremely helpful.

Again, I am so sorry that this is happening to you and we will do all we can to get to the bottom of the problem.

Does anyone else have a similar problem to Danny? If so, please jump in and tell us all you can about it.

Best wishes
Monique

Hi zodiac

It does not sound like you are doing anything wrong. I suspect that you are using Firefox 3 and you have encountered a bug in our system.

I understand how annoying it must be to lose text that you have typed in. Unfortunately this is a bug with our text editor that we are still working on. It only affects Firefox version 3. In the meantime here is what I can suggest:
1) Work in a different browser
2) If you want to work in Firefox 3: when you open a page to edit it, drop a new text widget on your page first, and enter some text. You should then be able to edit the other text widgets without losing work. (You can also delete the random text widget you added when you started editing)
3) Save copies of your pages. You can do this by clicking on the drop down arrow next to the "save" button and then selecting "save page as" You can remove these pages from your menu and delete them when you no longer need them as back ups
4) Keep a copy of your page open in preview mode so that you can copy and paste text should you lose any from your page
5) If step 2 doesn't work for you, or if you do lose your text for any reason you should immediately exit without saving to avoid the loss becoming permanent.

I am sorry that all this is a bit tedious and inconvenient but it is my best suggestion until we are able to fix the Firefox 3 bug and ensure stable text editing.
