Im haveing an issue in edit mode.
My site buttons in edit mode used to show up properly in firefox but no longer do,
In internet explorer they show up fine, but I really don't want to use IE at all.

Was this due to firefor 3 release, or was something else changed.

thanks for any help.

Internet explorer Used to look like this in FF also

Hi mred

Have you tried clearing the cache in your browser and then re-logging back in?

What version of FF are you using? If you started noticing problems after you upgraded to a newer FF version, this may very well be the case of a bug with FF. I suggest trying to go back to the older version.

The other cause may be your codes. Double check your codes to make sure that it was entered correctly, that you're not missing any closing tags or have misplaced " or ' in your codes.

tried clearing cache, but to no avail, it still screwey --technical term :)

it did however used to work, so I know it's not the code, it's only an issue in edit mode so it's probly an issue with FF3 they haven't addressed yet or had enough peeps have the same issue, was just trying to find out where the problem started and why it stopped working.

It seems I'm one of those SPECIAL people that just find all the weird issues, found a bug with js-kit awhile back that way lol, they said thankyou.

I'm sure wichever and it's on they'll find it soon, just needed to let people know about it. Although I did notice it does it on the preview page also.

Thanks for any more info anyone finds on this in the future.

did you by chance just install a newer version of FF? Can you try an older version? I'm using 3.0.8 version and am not having any problems.

Try this link: http://www.filehippo.com/download_fir... It doesn't have to be this version, you could even just try 3.0.9 or 3.0.10

The only other possibility is that your menu code does not function as it should. I noticed that you have this in your line:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml...>

I know when I use codes that require this line, for some reason it doesn't interact well with Yola. I would suggest try using a different menu code. Even though at first it may have worked, it can stop functioning after a bit of time.

I don't know why I didn't check this before but, I just checked one of my other machines and logged into edit site mode and it does the same thing with the buttons but, it looks fine with IE logged into edit mode.
That particular machine is running FF 3.0.10 Just thought I'd pass that info along.

It's very strange mred. I think it's best that you contact support@yola.com and explain to them what is happening. They'll be able to see what is going on and get back to you with a solution. I'm sorry that I was not able to help out more.

Hi mred - I'm sorry I've come to this thread so late. I suspect this is happening because of some code that has been added to your page. Do you know what you added before this started happening? Alternatively, you can submit a support request and we'll try to help you find out why this is happening.

It's ok Marije I knew someone would be here eventually, some of the other people where trying to help me figure out something too lol.

To answer your question, No, I haven't added anything major in a long time until the last few days.

In edit mode in firefox my buttons used to work fine then one day I logged in to move something over slightly and noticed they didn't line up like they used to and overlapped, this was awhile back so I blew it off and just chalked it up to the other problem I was haveing and was getting ready to reinstall windows.

To shorten the story, I've reinstalled my OS just a few weeks ago but that still happens and last few days have been adding stuff to my site some of which were links right under my buttons which made it a pain to do in firefox so I have to switch between FF and IE and I don't like IE lol

As in internet explore and also opera I just found out, My edit mode looks fine, but in fire fox it's all overlapped, but like I said too, it may be a problem with firefox also, but don't know and that's what I'm trying to sort out lol

Hi MrED1220,

I think I may have found your problem. You have opted to create your own navigation menu. In the html code for this button menu you have the following piece of code:

<link rel="stylesheet" href="resources/menu_buttons/movie_menubuttons/cbcscbNew_movie_menu.css" type="text/css" />

For some reason Firefox is unable to locate such a file in the file manager when using the site builder. As a workaround, all you need to do is add in the full URL of your site before resources in all your links to your CSS files. You simply need to add in "http://homeandhobbyhelpfulls.synthasite.com".

As an example, you need to change the current above CSS link to:

<link rel="stylesheet" href="http://homeandhobbyhelpfulls.synthasite.com/resources/menu_buttons/movie_menubuttons/cbcscbNew_movie_menu.css" type="text/css" />

Let me know if you have any further issues with this.

This fixes it! Thankyou very much!!

This would have been the last thing I would have suspected since the menu worked in the first place. hmmm it just didn't like edit mode, I'll be dipped.

Firebug does not show me those errors while in edit mode, although I did just learn that I can correct stuff in preview mode with it if it does not look correct.

Now, lets talk about those drop frames that link all the pages together so only one page has to be edited lol

*Note for future -- Do not shortcut href url's, firefox does not like it in edit mode lol :P

Thanks for everyones help in this matter!!
