Hi elizakate

To add custom HTML, drag and drop an HTML widget onto your page and type or paste in your code.

You can also edit the HTML of a text widget by clicking on the "Edit HTML" button on the text editing toolbar. It is the last icon.

I hope this answers your question.

Best wishes
Monique

If I may interject :) I am currently having a problem editing my HTML. Adds fine, say ok, want to go back in to center the text or picture and it just sits there doing nothing. When I hit cancel or the red 'x' then of course my changes are not saved. I have digressed to deleting the module, re-adding it and making sure to do what I need to with the HTML before I hit ok. Should I report a bug-ger in the system? By the by this is an awesome link all about HTML http://www.tizag.com/

Thanks clouda9

By all means, report it as a bug! Do it from within the site builder by using the Help menu and selecting "report bug". Then your message will arrive on my end with some additional debugging information and we will get our best bug killers on the case asap!

Thanks for the link! Good resources are always appreciated

Hi bobo the scholar,

It is not possible to edit the HTML of the template itself.

Right now you need to now you need to select your style from our style library. We are working on adding more and better styles/templates with more customization options. Currently you can change the banner image and colour palette on some of our styles.

We want to make more options available like this, and one of our future plans is to allow you to develop your own CSS style if this is something that interests you. However, this functionality is going to take significant engineering on our part, so it is still a little ways into the future. In the meantime I hope you can find a style to suit your needs.

You may be interested in this post on our forum: http://getsatisfaction.com/SynthaSite.... It has a link to a document that has a handy filter function for you to see which style you might like!

Hi munky,

We do not require upgrades, you are welcome to build and host a website free of charge using the Yola Sitebuilder for as long as you want. We do offer premium features that we charge for which is necessary to be a profitable company and to sustain our free offering. As Gop indicated, many things can be accomplished in the Free version. It sounds like you wish to change your CSS, which can be done using Yola Free by adding the changes to an HTML widget. You would need to do this to every page, so while it's not as convenient as the CSS editor included with Yola Silver, it is possible. Feel free to tell us more about what you are trying to do, we may be able to help.

?Forcing? I am under the impression that it's my choice. Manipulation I would agree with.

Maybe you can describe the issue you are having and other Forum people can offer a workaround? Usually things like this have multiple solutions and given freely :)

Hello Judith

The new Text Widget doesn't provide access to HTML. What is it exactly that you would like to edit? You can customize the text of your Text Widget by using the Style Designer. We're also busy adding more options to the new Text Widget, so you won't necessarily need to access its HTML in future.

Your alternatives are using the old Text Widget if you're using an account that was created before the introduction of the new Text Widget, or you can use an HTML Code Widget to add your text with the desired edits.
