Email List Options

Hi there,

Just a quick question... I have set up the feature where people can add their email to our mailing list if they'd like to receive our newsletter. However, the only information i receive is their email address and I'd like to know their first name so the newsletter can be addressed to them personally.

When you add your email it gives you the option to choose between HTML or a text version. Is it possible to add here the option to make a box where they can fill out additional information as their name / address/ phone number, etc. ? See attachment.

Thanks for your time!

Regards,
Saskia

Hello Saskia,

I think that this would be a function of the email subscription service that you are using. Hopefully that info would be in their FAQ or similar, (if it's offered)?

If it's an in-house set-up then a thought is to create a form with these fields included.

Thanks Gop!!

You're really a great help to this Forum i reckon. And YES off course, it's not a Yola feature so the question should be directed at Constant Contact instead of Yola i suppose :P Will have a look at their website for FAQ.

Hi Saskia,

If you added your Constant Contact facility through Yola's options, then they will happily support your query if you wish. I hadn't realised that when I responded.

It really is your choice as to which way you wish to go. I'm sure Laura or Stefan will read this thread anyway and make some suggestion or offer a solution.

Hey Gop, thats quick!

Yes, I did add the Constant Contact icon through Yola's options, would be very much appreciated if Laura or Stefan will get back to me at some stage! I've got so much on at the moment and well...it's the lazy way i suppose: someone telling you step by step what to do :P

Cheers

Hi Saskia,

I did take a look through Constant Contact's FAQ's and didn't see a topic to pull in names, although it seems like it would be a common request. I'm not sure that the page you mentioned can be customized but it may be worth reaching out to their support for an alternate suggestion.

Poor, poor service!

Customers have an agreement with Yola not with a secondary provider. This is clearly Yola's responsibility to see if the product offers the solution for their client.

As you have said that you think it would be a common request, so you should find out..

I'm so glad it worked out Saskia!

While we do promote the Constant Contact product in our Sitebuilder and happily assist with the use of the widget, advanced customization would need to be done through Constant Contact not within MyYola or the Sitebuilder.

Hi Laura,

Thanks for looking into it for me and thanks for the link to "reaching out to their support" too.

I've clicked on it and continued with starting a chat session.

Within 10 seconds i was talking to someone and within another 10 seconds the answer was given by the next link:

http://constantcontact.custhelp.com/a...

So, not that poor service after all Gop :)

Cheers for both your help!

You are right Saskia you got good service from Constant Contact but not from your primary provider.

It was the expectation that you would chase it up that doesn't qualify as good service but poor.

Sorry Gop, only read the "poor service" line you wrote, not the whole of your comment. I understand what you mean, but sometimes I can get a little lazy too. Plus...in this case it was alright to do the following up myself as the answer was there in a few clicks ;) You're a great and quick contributor to this forum btw!
