I purchased my domain through Yola, but recently moved the hosting to GoDaddy. The email account I setup through Yola is no longer working, even though the domain is still with Yola. Suggestions on how to get it up and running again?

Hello Daniel

Am I correct that by moving the hosting you mean that you are pointing your Yola domain to GoDaddy? This is what I can see in your Yola account.

When you point your Yola domain away, you will still be able to use Yola Mail. However, as the DNS for this domain is not managed by Yola, you will need to contact your domain's DNS provider and ask them to add the following DNS records in order for your Yola Mail to work.

MX: "mx.yourdomain.com.cust.b.hostedemail.com"
CNAME: "mail.yourdomain.com.cust.b.hostedemail.com"

Please note that once the DNS records have been added, it may take up to 48 hours for the change to take effect.

Thanks for the help!

Under the CNAME section, I edited the existing mail host field to read: mail.socialedgesolution.com.cust.b.hostedemail.com

Under the MX section, I added "10" to the priority field, "@" to the host field, and "mx.socialedgesolution.com.cust.b.hostedemail.com" to the "points to" field. I then deleted the other MX records already listed to avoid any problems.

Does this sound correct? I wasn't sure about the "10" in the priority field for the MX section.

Thank you!

Hi Daniel,

If you have deleted the other MX records then a preference of "10" is correct.

Thanks!
