When you embed a video it says "Locate the URL of your file. e.g. http://yourdomain.yolasite.com/resour..." What does this mean? I uploaded the video and copied and pasted the url at the top of the upload screen but that didn't work. Thanks!

Hi norton.barbie,

The URL of your image file will be formatted like the one you posted above but with your specific information inserted. Thus, the first part of the URL is your domain name, the second part is "resources" referencing the file manager, and the last part is the name of your file and extension type.

If you have added a folder to your File Manager where you have the image file located, then you would need to add that folder to the path and it would look something like this:

Once you have your URL, you can follow these steps to embed your video.

Do these steps apply to a yola site that is not yet published? I am trying to work out the path and not having much luck.

Hey Katherine

If you need to add a video to your yolasite there are many ways but this one might be the easiest for you.

1) Go to http://www.freevideocoding.com/
2) Select the type of media (video) that you have
3) Enter media file location. In your case simply use one of the following edited to reflect your video name and or folder location:
4) Choose Publishing Style. "Embed the Player" is usually fine.
5) Set your video height, width and quality.
6) Select "Yes" or "No" to support the generators site with a link back.
7) Click the "Make HTML" button.
8) Highlight and copy the generated code below the button.
9) Drag an HTML widget onto your page and paste the copied code within

Your video should now be accessible in both your unpublished site as well as when you publish.

If your video is in your file manager then it should play just fine published or not...

Happy site building
