Error trying to use a domain provided by a 3rd party.

i'm trying to point my existing domain to my yola website.
I'm registered with Netfirms, and through their control panel i've created an "A Record" for host "www" to point to 184.72.229.176, as well as host "@" to point to 184.72.229.176.

Now when I try and URL to my custom domain, it sends me to the default Yola site which states that my domain IS pointing to Yola. However, within Yola, when i follow the steps to use a domain provided by a 3rd party, I get an error message saying "there were some errors, your domain IS NOT pointing to Yola". how can this be, when my URL "www.DrSachdevND.com" takes me to the default Yola site?

How do i fix this. Please help.

Hi Sanjay,

I think that this should be working now. I noticed that there was a CNAME record initially which has now changed to a A record and going to your URL doesn't give an error from my side but rather an instruction to publish your site to your address with details of the procedure. Hope it works out smoothly now.

I'm good. Thank you. My custom domain is redirecting to my yola site now. However, I noticed the redirection doesn't preserve my custom domain name in the url bar. Instead, during the redirection process the url reverts the custom domain name in the url bar to xx.yolasite.com. How do I setup such that my custom domain name is preserved in the redirection?

You must set your custom domain as the primary domain. To do this please see our tutorial My domain is redirecting to a Yolasite subdomain.
