Hello Scott,

To re-instate your subscription you simply make a payment through your account. Unless your account has been suspended for extraordinary reasons, then all the site files will be there as they were.

Domains may be a different issue depending as to whether or not the domain subscriptions have expired in the period or not. It's easy to check this if you purchased your domains through Yola.

Hi Scott,

Gop is correct you can upgrade again at any time and all your work will be accessible! Here are the steps you can follow:

  1. Log in to My Yola.
  2. Hover your cursor over your email address (located at the top of the page).
  3. Click "Account Status" on the drop-down menu.
  4. Click the "Renew" link next to your Yola Silver subscription details.
  5. Follow the steps to make your payment and renew your subscription.

OK.

The Yola co is US based and payments are made to their company in the US. A VAT receipt is meaningless as the US doesn't charge VAT federally. Sales tax may be charge but this wouldn't be refundable by the UK tax system. You may be able to claim the expense as a business deduction but not related to VAT.

Your re-published site should be seen immediately on the web.

Ok thanks, i'll tell my accountants that!!! one last question, before my yola silver expired last year my website would come up on google searches, now if i google search my website, its not coming up, it comes up when i put my exact web address in the address bar, but not if i google search opticalillusion stirling. Can you tell me the reason for that or am i expecting too much too quickly!

That's to be expected. The address bar always takes you to the specific published site of that domain and there's no delay. That's really the essence of the internet.

In reference to Google or other search engines, your site would have been  removed from the Google index since it wasn't available. It's pretty well a new site situation. It may take some unpredictable time to be re-indexed and ranked for searches.

Your re-published site won't automatically bounce back to where it was before it dropped off the index.

Yola offer an automatic deduction facility for their sitebuilder subscription renewals and domains purchased through them. For people who don't monitor their renewal dates and email reminders, as a matter of routine, it's well worth considering. It will prevent this situation from recurring again.

Hello Scott

Our best package to help ypur with SEO is Yola Gold. If you'd like to optimize your website for search engines, using Yola Silver, you can do a couple of things, such as adding keywords. If you click on Page, you'll see a tab named "Metadata" which allows you to add that kind of information about your website.

For more information, please also see our extensive bas of SEO tutorials here: Yola SEO tutorials.

"metadata" has no bearing on your search Engine Rankings by Google or Bing, they may have some effect on the Chinese origin search engines (Baidu).

"meta-keywords" were removed from ranking criteria by Google approx 10 years ago.
Keywords should be naturally  included in the narrative paragraphs of your site. They will be identified automatically by the search engines. This alteration was developed to prevent fraudulent or manipulated emphasis of sites within rankings.

"meta-description" may appear on google search listing but this also has no effect on the major search engine rankings.

These specifically have been disclosed by Google & Bing/Yahoo.
