I have been trying to create a link to an external site by following the instructions from this topic:

Even though I have followed the instructions very closely it does not work.

The link appears in the menu ok, but when clicked instead of redirecting to the page I want it adds my websites URL to the front of the redirect URL, and hence the page cannot be found and returns a 404 error.

http://www."my website URL"/%22http://"URL I am trying to link to"%22.php

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Tiny Bag

If you want to cause your menu link to redirect automatically to an external URL, you will need to work with a bit of custom HTML.

Here's what you need to do:
  1. Create a new page with the name of the site you want to link to.

  2. Drag and drop a HTML Widget onto your page.

  3. Copy and paste the code below, into the HTML Editor:
    <script type='text/javascript'>if(!window.top.Yola){window.location='http://www.google.com'};</script>

  4. Change the URL, http://www.google.com in the code to the website to which you would like to redirect your page.

Please note: This code is used at your own risk, as it can result in your page not working correctly.
