You can have any names you want for your 25 sites. Unless you decide to purchase unique domain names for any or all of them, they would be subdomains of yola. Even then each name (domain or subdomain) would be your choice of a unique name (as long as the name is not already taken).

Hi Darren,

Adding to jean's information: you could add blahblah.mydomain.co.uk to your list.
You would need to create these and then you need to have the Yola Support people tweak the configuration a little bit. The whole process can't be done by the user at this time. The tutorial for creating sub-domains with a domain managed by yola is published. This may not be the procedure for .co.uk domains, but the Yola people will get back to you here with extra info if required.

Hi darrensmith,

From what I understand, you are asking whether each published site will automatically be a subdomain of your co.uk domain.

As Gop said, you can definitely create subdomains for your custom domain, and publish each of your Yola sites to the subdomains. This is not done automatically and we will need to assist you with creating these subdomains.

There are also other publishing options available to you, for example, publishing your sites to a free Yola subdomain. In this case, your address would be www.yoursite.yolasite.com.

Lastly, as Jean said, you can purchase custom domain names for each of your sites.

I hope this helps!

yes from what i can gather from above if i wanted to add a site named fantasticplastics as a sub domain to my main damain fantasticmastic then the add would be www.fantasticplastics.fantasticmastic..., meaning that to make the site add www.fantasticplastics.co.uk etc i would have to purchase it as a new domain.
gop has put me right i think in another post.
i do have a habbit of beating around the bush.
i also have another domain from gbbo.google when they first started id love to transfer that to yola but that seems to be a big can of worms as its a .co.uk. and the dns records are a nitemare to change.

DNS management is difficult I agree because of vocabulary. It does your head in and makes the brain hurt.

If you could let the forum know your registrar's name for your original .co.uk then maybe someone can offer help with this or point you to the start line at least :)

It seems to be coming on well Darren.

its a shame you cant transfer .co.uk sites to yola as the site management is much better here. and i cant alter the dns or cname they removed the option as people were leaving you now have to log in and msg them i cant remember where to do it or the passwords.
if someone could point me in the right direction, could i point to it from yola and update and manage it from yola dash board?
i know i would still have to add dns code to it or add cname alterations but that would only be a phone call to reclaim the password etc.
i can still update the site and log in that way. (cant alter the dns)

Hi Darren,

I'm unaware of a way to manipulate Zone records by proxie. It has to be done at your domains registrars level.

You may try Zone Edit but I am totally ignorant of this way of doing things. Zone Edit is a way to modify DNS records when you can't do it from a registrars facility. I don't know if it's an effective short-cut but would think that you would still need a login of some kind to access your domain.

I have been playing with a .co.uk domain a couple of hours ago and it was registered with Melbourne IT. Their DNS management tool is very good and there was no ultra-protective aspect preventing access to do anything that I could see. You may consider a transfer to them or another with a good DNS management tool?

I loathe protectionism in business. It's always self defeating.
