Facebook "like" displaying old site name... I've updated and published my new site names, but Facebook doesn't recognize it?

Hi. I added the Facebook Like button to my page, but when I try "liking" it, Facebook is using my site's old site name to display on my wall. I've updated the site name through Site > Site Settings, and also on each individual page through Page > Page Properties. Any ideas? I've published it to the web after making these changes, and it still shows up as the old site name when I unlike and re-like it.

Hi sullyalicia,

One reason that this is happening is the way that Facebook handles URLs on their end. Facebook caches URLs on the server side once, and it's unclear how often they update this.

A good workaround would be to change the URL to: http://mysite.yolasite.com/index.php?... (replace "mysite.yolasite.com" with your site address), and it should display your new page name when you "Like" it.

Thanks for your response, I followed your advice and have corrected the problem. However, another issue has come up. Is there a way to control what image shows on Facebook likes? Right now, for some reason, Facebook has selected a pretty random image that's on my website and I would much prefer it to show my logo.
Thanks again,
Alicia
