Am new to Yola...and loving it...but...is it possible to add a Facebook widget to my homepage? Have investigated the Twitter widget and was wondering if it is possible to add one for Facebook?

Hi Pauline

It's great to hear from you!

Adding a facebook widget on your page is a great idea and surprisingly easy to add.

Here is what you need to do:

1. Follow the link to this Facebook Plug-in page. If you are not logged into Yola, you will be asked to log in and then taken through to the page. Click on "Profile Badge".

2. When the page has finished loading, you will see a preview of your profile badge already on the page. Click on the "+ Other" button next to your badge preview to generate the code you need.

3. Facebook will generate the code you need and a small text field will appear and display it. Copy all the code contained in that text field.

4. Now go back to your Yola site and paste this code into an HTML widget on your home page.

You can add HTML by dragging and dropping an HTML Widget from the sidebar on the right onto your page (it is the blue sphere icon). An HTML editor will open up that will allow you to paste in your Facebook code. When you are done, click "OK" and you will see the way that the HTML displays on your page

5. Save the changes you have made in the Sitebuilder and Preview your page.

Your new Facebook Profile Badge should be visible.

Let us know if you need more help with this.

Thank you,
Nazlie

Hi Nazlie

Thanks very much for such a quick and accurate response! You're right - it is surprisingly easy! I was going to ask about the 'Like' button as well but have found that answer by following your instructions.

I'm really enjoying using Yola - so simple! Can't wait to get my site to a stage I can go live.

Thanks again for your support and advice.

Cheers
Pauline

Thanks for the suggestion - I like the way you used both logos as links. Did you obtain the logo through each of the sites? I know there is a bunch of things you can do with Facebook such as adding 'Like' buttons and status boxes etc but haven't gone so far as to investigate all of this yet.

Thanks again for the great idea - very helpful!
