Feels like forever waiting for the domain transfer

To whom it may concern
I find it totally incomprehensible that I could purchase a Yola Silver package, then create a new corporate website to replace my old one, and then not be able to access my new website for up to 12 days while the transfer request is being processed.
I have created another site, with many pages pointing to my free yola site, let’s call it firstinwireless.yolasite.com. But now, not only can’t I instruct anyone to go see my new site by going to http://firstinwireless.yolasite.com but all my pages pointing into firstinwireless.yolasite.com don’t work because yola insists on redirecting all requests for firstinwireless.yolasite.com to firstinwireless.com.
I tried to create a newsubdomain, say fiwparking.yolasite.com hoping to be able to make that one the inaccessible one since yola wants to redirect something to firstinwireless.com, but even though I saw firstinwireless.com in the dropdown of new sites I could point to, it wouldn’t let me pick that because it was in use somewhere else. A ha, let’s go remove it from the other place and then come and grab it here under fiwparking.yolasite.com. But after removing firstinwireless.com from under firstinwireless.yolasite.com, I could no longer see in the menu under fiwparking.yolasite.com. My thinking was that if I can have my parking site be the one that refers to firstinwireless.com, then at least browser requests to firstinwireless.yolasite.com would not be redirected to firstinwireless.com.
But I couldn’t make the system do what I wanted, and to add insult to injury, it put back by itself firstinwireless.com under firstinwireless.yolasite.com and made it primary again. Some minutes later. Tried multiple times to not have firstinwireless.com as primary, and each time, it took it, then a few minutes later, reset to the previous setup.
ARGH! So I sit and wait and pray for the domain transfer to go quickly this time, and all the energy spent on creating my new site doesn’t get me anything since nobody can go to it, and I can’t copy it elsewhere, and everyone I spoke to (Lindsay, Adrian, Vika) tell me there is nothing that can’t be done.
Not a happy camper

Hi Eskimo,

I met with the team who had been assisting you over the phone to gather the full background of your case. I understand the initial problem was that you had not completed the transfer process and that it had to be re-initiated. I understand how frustrating this delay is and the negative impact it's having on your business. Happily I see the team did compensate you by issuing you a free month of Yola Silver. The fact that you are unable to publish your website to your .yolasite domain and leave it as your primary domain during the pending transfer is an error on our end. We have asked our engineering team to investigate this and hope to have a solution for you soon. I'm sorry we were unable to pick up on that error sooner.

I appreciate your empathy, and that you are trying to resolve this for me as fast as you can. Perhaps it would help me and other members understand better and be more patient if you could expand on what exactly has to happen when a domain transfer to yola is requested, ie which parties are involved, and what do they have to do. For example, I still don't understand why if I login to yola, then request a domain transfer, why do you send me an email that I need to access and reply to as ooposed to sending one to the owner of the old domain? It seems I asked for a transfer, therefore what is the point of sending *me* a message asking if I really want to have the domai transferred? Just my 2 cents' worth (clink)(clink)

It's the weirdest thing. I looked again at where my pending domain was parked, was able to make it not primary, was then able to go to my temporary parking place subdomain, and add firstinwireless.com as a place to publish. I was then even able to make firstinwireless primary of my parking site, and for a few minutes, I was able to actually go to firstinwireless.yolasite.com as a user. Then it reverted by itself again, ie firstinwireless.yolasite.com started going to firstiniwireless.com, even though there is no mention of firstinwireless.com anymore under the advanced settings of firstinwireless.yolasite.com. As a matterof fact, I was asked to select a domain to be primary when I went to advanced of fiw.yolasite.com, so I picked fiw.yolasite.com. Still no dice. And now my domain transfer may be Tue or Wed, not Mon as originally suggested. Talk about hedging one's bets! Sigh.

We agree something strange is going on with this which is why our engineering team is investigating. We will update you here when we know more.
