To whom it may concern
I find it totally incomprehensible that I could purchase a Yola Silver package, then create a new corporate website to replace my old one, and then not be able to access my new website for up to 12 days while the transfer request is being processed.
I have created another site, with many pages pointing to my free yola site, let’s call it firstinwireless.yolasite.com. But now, not only can’t I instruct anyone to go see my new site by going to http://firstinwireless.yolasite.com but all my pages pointing into firstinwireless.yolasite.com don’t work because yola insists on redirecting all requests for firstinwireless.yolasite.com to firstinwireless.com.
I tried to create a newsubdomain, say fiwparking.yolasite.com hoping to be able to make that one the inaccessible one since yola wants to redirect something to firstinwireless.com, but even though I saw firstinwireless.com in the dropdown of new sites I could point to, it wouldn’t let me pick that because it was in use somewhere else. A ha, let’s go remove it from the other place and then come and grab it here under fiwparking.yolasite.com. But after removing firstinwireless.com from under firstinwireless.yolasite.com, I could no longer see in the menu under fiwparking.yolasite.com. My thinking was that if I can have my parking site be the one that refers to firstinwireless.com, then at least browser requests to firstinwireless.yolasite.com would not be redirected to firstinwireless.com.
But I couldn’t make the system do what I wanted, and to add insult to injury, it put back by itself firstinwireless.com under firstinwireless.yolasite.com and made it primary again. Some minutes later. Tried multiple times to not have firstinwireless.com as primary, and each time, it took it, then a few minutes later, reset to the previous setup.
ARGH! So I sit and wait and pray for the domain transfer to go quickly this time, and all the energy spent on creating my new site doesn’t get me anything since nobody can go to it, and I can’t copy it elsewhere, and everyone I spoke to (Lindsay, Adrian, Vika) tell me there is nothing that can’t be done.
Not a happy camper
