i'm having trouble with putting a flash gallery viewer i like into my synth pages. The viewer is Tiltviewer, http://www.airtightinteractive.com/pr... and i have managed to get the html into the body of the page, pointed at the swf and js in the resources file, but i can't seem to get the gallery.xml to read into the swf and point to all the pics in the resources file. it's such a nice viewer, it was the driving force for making me finally build a website, i hope i haven't gone down a wrong path here.

www.vrakking.ca is my site. click on the flash tab

Being unable to upload multiple files at once, without individually clicking every one, is going to be painful if i really do end up with my gallery pages here. i sincerely wish there was an option to upload the contents of a folder. The images are all going to be small, but there will be many.

Hi jayve

Just upon a quick review of your source code I can see that your "gallery.xml" should read "resources/gallery.xml"

Without it pointing to your gallery.xml file it won't work... I haven't played around with this flash gallery long enough to work out all the bugs but give the rename a try first...

Find where it shows the following in your code and edit it to include "resources/"

<!--
// XML GALLERY OPTIONS
// To use local images defined in an XML document, use this block
fo.addVariable("useFlickr", "false");
fo.addVariable("xmlURL", "gallery.xml");
fo.addVariable("maxJPGSize","640");
-->

<!--
// XML GALLERY OPTIONS
// To use local images defined in an XML document, use this block
fo.addVariable("useFlickr", "false");
fo.addVariable("xmlURL", "resources/gallery.xml");
fo.addVariable("maxJPGSize","640");
-->

If that doesn't work I will try and locate a feature which might work for you and be just as flashy.

Happy site building

Hi Grace I will get to it soon enough but I am not feeling in the mood to spend much time on my site anymore so it may take some time.

Thanks for the reply. i tried both, without the subfolder extension and with. The results are different, but not particularly enlightening. my site is now updated with the subfolder direction, you'll see... i continue to tweak parameters in hopes of a solution. maybe something in the xml is odd.

i've tried this with and without the resources/ preceeding the image names as well. I also tried the thing you mentioned in other posts using http://vrakking.synthasite.com/resources, but that seems not to work for any of the files, the swf and js get lost in the shuffle. i wonder if it may be because i have a .ca address.

Conundrum.

thanks, tho!

Well, it seems to be a syntax/webformat limitation on JPGs. All my jpgs loaded fine in the normal add picture widget, but the viewer is a lot pickier. Wouldnt accept spaces in the names, names over a certain length, and non web-optimized images. None of this is documented in the Tiltviewer info, but there it is.

But to see why i like it, go to www.vrakking.ca

Thanks for the help

Any thoughts on why the flash window doesn't line up to center?

Have you tried moving it using the diamond boxes in the properties sidebar?

Hi Jayve or anyone else who can help.
I really like this viewer and would love to use it.
However, when i try to upload it, the jscript file get restricted....

How did Jayve get this to work on his site?

Thanks

You cannot upload .js files. Perhaps as a workaround, you can upload your .js file to a file hosting site and then link to it there.

Regarding the jscript, thats what i thought...... but i guessed that jayve may have had a workaround.

Will try the filehost technique you suggested.

Thanx

I should mention that this thread is already 6 months old. Yola did allow .js files to be uploaded in the past so this may have occurred during that time.
