Hi there Felipe,

How are you trying to add your gallery?

I checked the support pages of Simpleviewer and found a way that should work with Yola. The Basic Embed should do the trick.

I hope this helps.

Hi Josh,

It looks like PostcardViewer requires you to upload .js files to your site: http://simpleviewer.net/postcardviewe...

In order to do this, you would first need to upgrade to Yola Silver as .js files are restricted on the Yola Free version. Then follow the steps on the above link and be sure to change the URL's to reflect the files uploaded to your account (eg. src="swfobject.js" must be changed to src="resources/swfobject.js")

I'm not that familiar with PostcardViewer, so I'm not sure if it will work on Yola. Generally, a lot of services offer to embed their product by giving you HTML embed code to add to your site without requiring you to upload any files.

If you need more instructions on how to get this working on your site, please let us know - I'm not sure if you're willing to upgrade to Yola Silver in order for it to work. Perhaps it may be worth contacting PostcardViewer to find out if they have another alternative to adding their gallery to your site.

HI Marije

I am an exisiting yola silver member, i have changed the src to src="resources/swfobject.js"

The most i can get is only the area where the html is meant to appear turns into a box. so some linking does occur.

Thanks Josh - could you post a link to your site and let me know which page the code has been added to so that I can take a look?

I have gotten the box to come up on the page. where the viewer is meant to be is giving me an error saying: no image nodes found in gallary xml. When I publish my site the bos gives this error: gallary xml not found.
So it seems linking is occuring

I have up loaded gallary.xml and changed resources/ for the pictures

please help

we are getting closer to making this work

Thanks Josh - I've taken a look at the code and I can see that you have an extra forwardslash "/" before resources/swfobject.js in the first line. You can remove it.

The instructions on PostcardViewer include Copy the entire contents of your PostcardViewer gallery folder into the folder that contains your HTML page (including the swfobject.js file and sub-folders). Did you upload all the contents to your File Manager?

It may also be easier to create the folder in your File Manager - remember to change the URL to "resources/foldername/swfobject.js" if you do (replace "foldername" with the name of the folder you've created).

Unfortunately my knowledge of this kind of thing is quite limited. If it's still not working, I can ask for help from someone with more expertise, but it may take a little longer. If anyone on the forum is able to help out, please do!

Me too I tried to add a simpleviewer gallery but when copying the embed code into my site (I use the html widget and copy the code there inside) it shows always an message like "oops there has been an error with your code, check the code" but it is exactly the code I copied from simpleviewer.. how can the problem be solved? The code looks like this:

<!--START SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED.-->

<!-- END SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED -->

Where is the error in the code, why doesn't it run?

Hello Anne-KatherineM,
I am going to ask one of my colleagues to take a look at this. Can you please post the code again here for her to take a look at. If you put <! -- at the beginning and -- > at the end the code will render on the page for us to see.

Thanks,
Emmy

I tried also to copy the code without the <! at the beginngin, left away the phrase start simpleviewer embed and started directly with the code after this:

there was another phrase at the end -- END SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED --
I took away the signs there otherwise you might not be able to see the code?

Hello Anne-KathrinM

I'm sorry to hear that it's been a problem getting your code to work on the forum. Here's how to do it: <!--your code goes in here-->

Or you can use this HTML Encoder: http://forsite.synthasite.com/encoder...

We can certainly respond to you from support as well! We'll keep an eye out for your email.

I am using svbuilder and the embed code is incomplete when you click to receive the code. and copying and pasting in the html widget just does not work. tried the encoder. stills says "oops, something wrong with your javascript" or something like that.. I also tried using flicker and local, neither did anything.

Hello livingwoodflutes

Can you please share with us the URL for where this svbuilder is found? I'll see what I can find out to make this work.

hi is this problem solved? Because I'm having the same trouble. I spent hours trying to get simpleviewer work on my Yola silver website... Why doesn't Yola allow uploading folders? I put everything together and copied what's in the html file into the html widget. I don't know computer code and I just want a nice gallery for my art work... sad :(
